This whole series screams of changes. You can see how the main characters (who have survived😱) have grown and evolved over the series. And then there is the actual death... #tarottakeover @ErinSueG @WhiskeyMistress

#tarottakeover #Death
I know. I'm bringing up the same series... but seriously. This book and this character is litterally and figuratively the embodiment of Death. Poor misunderstood and feared card.
For those who have read this series, are you Team Jack, or Team Death?

I'm sorry I'm so inconsistent with my participation!

Reading the description for this card immediately made me think of this book. It's nothing but new beginnings, transitions and endings. Plus it's my favoritist book ever. 😉

"When Gregor woke up one morning fro unsettling dreams, he found himself changed
into a monstrous vermin. He was lying on his back as hard as armor plate, and when he lifted his head a little, he saw his vaulted brown belly, sectioned by arch-shaped ribs...his many legs...were waving helplessly before his eyes. 'What's happened to me?'".

Quirkybookworm Lol ! I had to laugh at the title. See, I'm deaf. When I was 8, I had to look that word up and pronounce it. That, my friend, was my very first longest word that got me hooked looking for the longest word ever! You should've seen me! Drove my grandparents bonkers! 13mo
bookcollecter 😁 that's a cool story...thanks for sharing with me. So have you found THE longest word yet? 13mo

#tarottakeover #DeathCard This is a true story of a Jewish family that fled to Africa to save themselves from Hitler‘s regime. The transition was difficult, but ultimately Africa felt like home to them. They did return to Germany after the war, but again that was a difficult decision. I read the book, but love ❤️ the movie. Many scenes had me sobbing. If you can enjoy a movie with subtitles, I highly recommend this one.

This book is definitely about Fate messing with someone. Demonstrates the down side of the wheel... Though I suppose he got to be King for a bit and not many people can say that. 😉 #tarottakeover @ErinSueG @WhiskeyMistress

Abarat | Clive Barker
post image

#tarottakeover #death Clive Barker always writes novels where broad sweeping changes occur. Some good, some bad. But Miss Candy Quackenbush from Chickentown, Minnesota has her entire life flipped upside down when she discovers Abarat and is reborn into someone much braver and with a far bigger purpose than she would have ever expected. This is one of the most magical, beautiful storybooks ever.
