'...Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers'
'...Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers': More Mad, Marvy Confessions of Georgia Nicolson | Louise Rennison
4 posts | 20 read
Featuring the confessions of crazy but lovable Georgia Nicolson, this is a funny book. Laugh at Georgia's tales from her trip to Hamburger-a-gogo land (the US) and her attempts to entice Masimo, the Italian stallion. Can Georgia become the composed sex-kitten she aspires to be?

Okay...this is a blast from the past! Georgia Nicholson‘s confessions entertained me in my library grad school days, though the true market for these books are tween/teens. Georgia does a lot of #ExpressYourself in her diaries, documenting her thoughts on everything from fashion to food to boys. I wonder if I would these as entertaining now as I did fifteen years ago... #Movember

Cinfhen I‘m always curious how books I enjoyed years back would hold up for me now. Look all those Danielle Steele novels. I‘m pretty sure I would bail on most of them now 4y
LauraBeth @Cinfhen 😂 same! I read a LOT of John Grisham when I was 19-21. I haven‘t read him since and wonder if I‘d bail now. 4y
Librarybelle @Cinfhen @LauraBeth I read a lot of chick lit in my 20s. Several months ago, I re-listened to one of the titles I had previously read and really did not like it. I kept listening, just to see if I remembered why I liked it, and nothing ever came to me. I figured I grew out of the marketing bracket for it! 4y

Cinfhen I think I could still stomach Grisham @LauraBeth I really LOVED his books back then but I wonder if I‘d still enjoy Sophie Kinsella??? I might have “marketed” out too @Librarybelle 4y
LauraBeth @Cinfhen and @Librarybelle confession time: I have not left the marketing bracket for chick lit (but should have)! I was 25 when Bridget Jones came out and when her last book came out, I happily read it! 😂 I‘m also on hold at the library for the new Kinsella. 4y
Cinfhen I guess Bridgette and Becky are just like old dear friends @LauraBeth you can‘t let go even though you may have outgrown the friendship 😉 4y
Librarybelle Oh my! I didn‘t mean anything by my comment, @Cinfhen and @LauraBeth ! I also like Bridget and Becky and am excited to see there is a new shopaholic adventure. I read a lot of chick lit because they were light and fluffy. I‘m now more into cozy mysteries for my light and fluffy. I realize now I sounded insulting about those who read chick lit for fun...I am so sorry! 4y
BethM I actually picked a couple of these up awhile back to see if I‘d still enjoy them! Haven‘t read them yet. 4y
LauraBeth @Librarybelle I didn‘t think you came off as insulting at all and didn‘t take it that way. I think this is a question that lifelong readers always think about - how do authors and/or books hold up as we age. I agree with @Cinfhen that sometimes you read something for nostalgic reasons and it‘s like visiting old friends. And sometimes it‘s just as you say in your post - you see a book you read a long time ago and wonder how you‘ll view it now. (edited) 4y
Shadowfat I used to love these when I was younger, they were so ridiculous! 4y
Librarybelle Much appreciated, @LauraBeth ! ❤️ 4y
Librarybelle @BethM @Shadowfat They were so funny! 4y
BookNAround I thought these were hilarious. I read them long past the target age and still chortled with delight as I made my way through them. And the titles! Totally awesome blast from the past. 😀 4y
Librarybelle @BookNAround They were adorable! 4y
