Latest (but not the last) September #bookhaul 📚
Mostly fantastic (Morgan, Adams and Priest), but I finally got Dino Buzzati and one of those beautiful Eco's books I've been collecting for a few years 💙
Two bottom left creepy books by Robert Irwin have great covers too😍

Found this beauty in a #LittleFreeLibrary I‘ve never heard of it, but it sounds good.

Redwritinghood I liked this one. It was really interesting. 6y

Coffee, camera, film, and Umberto Eco. In 2006 I moved from Korea to Australia. I gave away my copy of this book, unfinished. Two years ago my young cousin, Elizabeth, died of bowel cancer. Last week her mother delivered this book to me. It had been Elizabeth‘s. Now I read it again, with feeling. Liz loved her books. I only wish she‘d written in it. Her name at least. She was a librarian and averse to marking books. I scrawl all over mine!

1️⃣ My father reading this very second.
2️⃣ Chocolate. All. The. Time.
3️⃣ Wedding ring.
4️⃣ I wear black every day. But I only wear capris or cargo pants when not working. I wear blasers for conferences and public speaking.
5️⃣ Nope. We have until April up here.

#TBRtemptation post 3! The South Pacific in 1643, Roberto della Griva finds himself shipwrecked on a beautiful island. The ship's fully provisioned but the crew's gone. While getting himself composed and acclimated to his situation, the young dreamer will recollect his imaginary evil brother, the siege in the Thirty Years' War when he lost his father, his fencing lessons, his love letters, and much, much more. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

tournevis While it's not my favourite Eco, it is very very good. I recommend it. 6y
BarbaraJean This has been on my #TBR for probably 15 years! I read Name of the Rose and LOVED it, then started buying Eco whenever I saw his books. The ratio of bought to read didn‘t pan out so well... yet... (edited) 6y

Our former colleague who has since gone on to be the Library Director of another one in the county made these recommendations for August. A time-travel theme. What do you think? 😊👍🏻 #LitsyLovesLibraries

becausetrains I think you're time-traveling if you're posting so soon after your last one 👀 7y
MrBook @becausetrains 😂👏🏻 7y
MrBook How have you been doing, @becausetrains ? 😊 7y

britt_brooke I'm no time travel fan, however I absolutely make exception for Vonnegut. 7y
becausetrains @britt_brooke Make an exception for these! Among these others, Kindred is a masterwork - Butler is one of the best authors in the Sci-Fi genre of her age. 7y
bookandcat Great list, but missing 7y
becausetrains @MrBook I've been alright. Thanks for reminding me about A Wrinkle in Time, I'm looking forward to 2018 so I can see the magic Oprah does with it. I'm liking how well Hollywood is turning boring white-only movies into multicultural ones too - what do you think? 7y
britt_brooke @becausetrains Actually, Kindred is in my TBR. I'm moving it up! 7y
MrBook @becausetrains Glad to hear all is well. I don't mind it 😊👍🏻 7y
ReadingRover Abarat was a good one. I forgot about it. I read the first two and was waiting for the third to come out and got caught up in other books! It's got that wacky yet sort of dark vibe to it. 7y
DivineDiana Enjoyed Kindred! 7y

With a little imagination this cover could be a nautical map 😊

CrowCAH I see the longitude and latitude of a map! ☺️ 7y

While not exactly #setonanisland, the island hovers close by as a tantalizing literary device.

Here is but a small sample of my #translatedbooks. I have to admit that I don't usually pay attention to whether a book is a translation. As long as I can read it, I'm happy! #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge
