The Twelve Dogs of Christmas
The Twelve Dogs of Christmas: An Andy Carpenter Mystery | David Rosenfelt
12 posts | 12 read | 6 to read
Defense lawyer Andy Carpenter usually tries to avoid taking on new cases at all costs. But this time, hes happyeager, evento take the case thats just come his way. Andys long-time friend Martha Pups Boyer takes in stray puppies that the local dog rescue center cant handle, raises them until theyre old enough to adopt, and then finds good homes for them. Not everyone admires the work Pups does as much as Andy does, however. With Christmas just around the corner, one of Pupss neighbors has just reported Pups to the city for having more than the legal number of pets in her home under the local zoning laws. Andy happily takes Pupss case, and he feels confident in a positive outcome. Who could punish someone for rescuing puppies, after all, especially at Christmastime? But things get a lot more complicated when Randy Hennessey, the neighbor who registered the complaint against Pups, turns up dead. Pups had loudly and publicly threatened Hennessey after he filed his complaint, and Pups was also the one to find his body. All the evidence seems to point to Pups as the killer, and suddenly Andy has a murder case on his hands. He doesnt believe Pups could be guilty, but as he starts digging deeper into the truth behind Hennesseys murder, Andy may find himself facing a killer more dangerous than he ever imagined. With his trademark wit, larger-than-life characters, and clever plotting, David Rosenfelt delivers another gripping mystery.

Watched this in the morning while I was putting laundry away. Omg, what a bad movie. I‘ll watch anything with a dog in it, but man was this poorly developed. #wintergames #teamreadnosedreindeer @StayCurious

I hadn't read any of this series before, but this one was terrific. I've already downloaded 2 more of the Christmas ones from the library. I definitely recommend it. (And unlike your book, @TheAromaofBooks there are puppies in this one 😄)

I'm not a big fan of driving, but at least it gives me time to listen to my book uninterrupted. (Was sitting in my driveway, not driving, when the pic was taken) 🐕‍🦺🎄

Enjoying this one a lot so far for the #wintergames #merryreaders @Clwojick +1

Have I ever told you I have the best #litsypenpal ever? She is the greatest gift picker I have ever known! I don‘t give her any ideas because I know whatever I‘m lucky enough to get will be perfect. That mug had me laughing. ❤️ Those socks look like heaven. Caramel popcorn? Yesss! Finally those books! I let out a gasp when I saw “The Starless Sea” because that was on my secret wish list. Thank you @Litlady you‘re the best! Merry Christmas!!!!

Litlady Hurray for all the Yuletide (#LitsyPenpal) books! Hope you enjoy @Beck9lol and Merry Christmas‼️ My book selling life has been (good) crazy and will open your package tomorrow and going to enjoy a much deserved three day weekend off! Woohoo!! 🎅🏻📚🎄🤶🏻❣️📚📚 4y

The stories are sometimes convoluted but the characters (dog and human) are always memorable. Witty and funny page-turners.

This is the first holiday addition to the series and I have to say it‘s one of my favorites I think! Andy defends a woman who goes by the nickname of Pups- and as usual, the writing made me laugh out loud (and even well up in a few places!). Rosenfelt is a great writer and I‘m thoroughly enjoying catching up on this series!! #DogsOfLitsy

#TBRtemptation post 7! This is the 15th(!) installment in the Andy Carpenter series. Defense lawyer Andy's long-time friend, Martha "Pups" Boyer, takes in shelter puppies, raising them for adoption. Her neighbor Randy files a complaint. Andy takes on her case--who would be against raising puppies around Christmas?--and then Randy turns up dead with Pups the main suspect. Now Andy's got a murder case on his hands. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?

LibrarianRyan His books are so much fun n 6y

Who can resist this cover?? I certainly can't, and you shouldn't either. With its fast pace and whimsical narration, this book makes a great holiday read and/or gift. As the cover suggests, dog lovers will especially enjoy it. The author does a lot of work in the dog rescue community, so your support of this book also goes to a good cause.

I had no idea this was 15th in a series when I picked it up. I felt no lag in the reading while I tried to figure out who was who. I was engrossed right from the start. The mystery was smart, the main character is funny, and I now have to add the first 14 books to my TBR!
