what was his/her problem and how was the problem resolved?
Jack's entire village including his dad was captured by giants, his job is to get it
back with the help of his little sister. As the story progress, they meet more people the same as their size that helps them find what they are looking for.

I told my husband that when I finished reading “Jack,” I‘d help him tidy the apartment. I started with a long-ignored corner & immediately found these!😱
The label reads, “Mystery beans! Fun climbers that surprise you.” They were given to the members of his band by a wandering nomad girl in the audience who was looking for a place to couch-surf. It‘s weird that we have them in the first place, & weirder still that I stumbled upon them when I did!
so-soI think if I were an actual child reading this book, my rating would be much higher. The story got better as it progressed, but it never “grew” on me (har, har) the way I expected it to. I loved “Rump” by the same author. The writing in this one wasn‘t quite so delicate & tender (she says about a book named after a rear-end 🤷♀️🍑). I did like “Jack”‘s overall message about the magic of “Growing Things.”
“Growing is powerful, isn‘t it?”
“Very powerful,” said Papa. “From one tiny seed you can grow a tree as big as the giants. Now, that‘s magic, if you ask me.”
Does book clutter count as mess? Because, if so, I'm thinking there is no way my house will be "clean" when guests arrive tomorrow. C'est la vie.
