The art in this is very “standard manga style,” which I‘m not a big fan of, but it was done well—the characters are all very well distinguished. (I particularly enjoyed how evil Lucy Steele looked and how stupid her sister Anne looked.) This is quite a faithful adaptation, surprisingly comprehensive, though I missed Margaret‘s funny lines and there‘s some over-the-top romantic bits at the end. Good way for a manga fan to get into classic lit!

This was so fun! I only just learned about the Manga classics series. The manga was pretty faithful to the original; I was impressed. They definitely leaned into the romantic side of things make than the original. The scenes with the Palmers were mostly excluded, and that jewelry shop scene was new. Marianne‘s sickness also wasn‘t as serious here as the original. The art of the characters was very pretty. Bummer it wasn‘t in color.

Loved this adaptation - 5 ⭐. Loved the portrayal of the relationship between Elinor & Marianne, and also (not pictured), the death of Mr Dashwood sets up the story perfectly. Also, does the drawing of Colonel Brandon remind you of Alan Rickman?

This was another great graphic novel adaptation by Stacy King and Po Tse. I‘ve read a few of these Manga Classics and their adaptations are my favorites. It‘s been a few years since I read the original, but I felt this one would be easy to follow whether the reader is familiar with the novel or not.

I‘ve never read manga before, but Sense & Sensibility is one of my favorite books, so this seemed like a good entry point. It was so much fun!

The depiction of Marianne had me laughing out loud and the ending gave me all of the feels. The hardest part was reading backwards! By the end though, I didn‘t even notice. (Art from Manga Classics)

I've completed my Jane Austen manga collection and reread Emma as long as I was reading them all through! Sense and Sensibility worked out well as a manga although I think they exaggerated some of Willoughby's reactions a bit!
