On Tyranny is Leo Strauss’s classic reading of Xenophon’s dialogue Hiero, or Tyrannicus, in which the tyrant Hiero and the poet Simonides discuss the advantages and disadvantages of exercising tyranny. Included are a translation of the dialogue from its original Greek, a critique of Strauss’s commentary by the French philosopher Alexandre Kojève, and the complete correspondence between the two. This revised and expanded edition introduces important corrections throughout and expands Strauss’s restatement of his position in light of Kojève’s commentary to bring it into conformity with the text as it was originally published in France.

Pruzy @Ashley_Nicoletto Still only a 3:8 ratio of audiobooks to other books. So far I'm averaging only 2 books a month...any tips for reading more words (besides audiobooks that is) 7y

Ashley_Nicoletto @Pruzy I just make sure to always take a book with me places. I read almost any time I have down time. Like in line at the grocery store etc. it's kind of ridiculous actually lol. But I'm kind of a slow reader and I wouldn't read nearly as much if I didn't. 7y
Pruzy @Ashley_Nicoletto Haha, I've got to go to slower grocery stores. Can't remember the last time I've had to stand in a line that was longer than 5 minutes. 7y

Ashley_Nicoletto @Pruzy We have 24 hour ones, buttttt we only really have one major chain besides Walmart for groceries. I try to go Friday nights to avoid the lines late. 7y
