Oh how I love Dumbledore!
Almost halfway through.
Nothing like Harry Potter to get you out of a reading slump! I flew through “the goblet of fire” (and yes, I ugly cried through almost everything from the tri-wizard tournament onwards) now on to “ the order of the Phoenix “.
Book clutch Harry Potter available in our Etsy store. Link in our profile😉
Started reading the series with my daughter but had to read on by myself rather than wait for her to be old enough to read the later books. Loved this one.
Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have
My daughter is re-reading this again, and the audiobook is really distracting! However, I‘ve made a rule ( 🤷🏻♂️ ) no eating in my bed, so she‘s brought it out near me while having a snack. I wouldn‘t mind, but I‘m trying to write a paper on theory and discourse. Not really compatible with hearing about Mr Weasley and his job at the ministry...
And now we come to my most hated of all potterverse characters....Umbridge.....prissy, pink, putrid old Umbridge. There is nothing to like about this spiteful old woman! When it comes to villains this on really hits hard!
This book you see what true evil looks like. You see friends become closer than ever before as the series takes a deeper look into darkness. Once a happier book now seems to be going down a very dark ally as more people die and characters start becoming even more powerful
Since @jenniferw88 was faster, I'm going with Umbridge. She can be ruthless, has lots of suggestions on how things could work better and, when in presence of someone whom she accepts as superior to herself, she can be quite submissive.
I read this one so many times the binding split and the pages were crinkling. I literally dropped this book in the bathtub and had to let it dry out before I could read it. It was taped back together a million times before I bought myself a new copy. I think that tells you how good it is.
So finished listing to the last couple of hours of this book this morning. I can‘t tell you how much I prefer the books over the movies. This book has to be one of my favorites along with Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban. It deals with so many themes that even as an adult people are able to relate to including love, loss and sacrifice. Loved this book. ⚡️
When entering the office of the Defense Against The Dark Arts teachers at Hogwarts, one might get the feeling that #SomeoneSWatchingMe, no matter which teacher we're talking about.
Lockhart had his portraits.
Lupin had creatures.
Moody had his Auror tools and his magical eye.
Umbridge had her cats.
In the above pictured scene, Harry stares back at all the technicolour kittens.

We are finally moving out to our very own place in 6 months and I‘ve started buying things and adding things to my Etsy cart. These are just a few. We are divided on #houses The Hubbs and Kid are Gryffindor and I am a Slytherin so this really is a #newhogwartsadventure @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @vkois88
It has been so long since I last read this series, that it has been nice to visit it from a more mature perspective.
I have hardly read 5-7 so a lot of the nuances I had forgotten. I was surprised to find that the death didn‘t effect me as much as I remembered. But overall it was fun to revisit and I am looking forward to starting on 6 :)
Thanks to @Soubhiville for posting this fun quiz!
This is actually a fairly good fit. 🤔 It‘s the southerner in me - we can‘t help but be kind, even if we‘re saying “bless their heart.” 😂😂😂
I never read any Harry Potter when they came out, nor have I seen any of the films.
Reading my way through the series has been a fun experience & a nice change from heavier, more serious reading.
The stories are entertaining & Rowling writes skilfully to her audience. I can see why these are kids favourites.
No shame being a 40 year old man reading this on the bus to work!
The little and I have finished another one. Movie time!
