1. The last translated book I read was the tagged book that I finished yesterday.
2. I wish I could read books written in foreign language, have some French but not enough to be able to read in that language. Total admiration to those Littens that can do this. ššš

pickFinished book 4 in the Hangman‘s Daughter series, somewhere between a so-so & pick. Overall there are good plots in these and enjoyable to read, but full of the darkness of the times. This one is set in 1666 & a disease is going round, the Plague? Amongst this we have a murder and the dark feelings of the time. They rely on Hangmans for tortures & hangings but were treated abominably.
Now at 523 pages read for the #EasterExtravaganza Readathon.
It‘s gone midnight here in the U.K. so kicking off my #EasterExtravaganza Readathon by reading this book, the fourth book in the Hangman‘s Daughter Series.

The 4th in The Hangman‘s Daughter series. About a hangman, his daughter, and her husband in medieval Bavaria (part of Germany) whom solve murders. They are fairly dark books- lots of hatred for hangmen, violence against women, constant name calling of those that are different.

so-soI quite enjoyed this installment of the series. I hate when I‘m not sure how to rate something, though. 3.5 is good, and that‘s how I felt through most of the book. I never lost interest in the almost 500-page book, but at the same time, it wasn‘t really a āpage-turnerā, either. Boy, the number of times everyone seemed to insult others, though! I still enjoyed it enough, though, to continue with the series.

I have loved this series from beginning to end.
The fam went to the lovely town of Fredericksburg TX today and got a couple of books from Books on Main.
