Bailedbailed

I work with statistics and would love to understand some things better, but I think I sold myself short on this one—I already had a pretty solid handle on what was presented in this book, so I bailed. Could be good for someone without much exposure to statistics, but even then, the writing came off to me as being really self satisfied. Glad I was able to return it.

Read this to help with grad school stats. Good supplement to the text book.

I love Statistics. I love understanding scientific studies when I read them, which I do fairly often. This is a great refresher course if you took Statistics in college and want to brush up or if you just want a better understanding of the field.

However, it is very dry. It is not one of those super fun quasi-academic books. Therefore, it gets a so-so.

Three bingos now! Beginning to think I could have another #bookspinbingo blackout!

squirrelbrain You‘re well on the way to a #bingoblackout! 4y
TheAromaofBooks Amazing progress!! 4y
Megabooks @squirrelbrain thanks, Helen! I‘m trying to read 25 books a month this year, so this has been a great challenge. 👍🏻😊 4y

Megabooks @Cinfhen thanks! 💜💜 it has been really fun and helped me stick with a TBR and read some of my huuugggee backlist!! 4y
Cinfhen I don‘t think I‘ve read 5 books all month😜 4y
Megabooks @Cinfhen you‘ve had some really awesome months though, and you have good reason to be reading less now! 💜 4y

A popular introduction to statistics. It's a bit jokier and more math-averse than I'd prefer, and it's not going to replace "How To Lie With Statistics," but it covers the basics and kept me entertained. The cover, on the other hand, is brilliant.

Just made the switch to an android and I'm already obsessed! Now I can easily switch between Audible and Libby reads as I often do. Also so excited to take some pretty pics of books later :)📱🎧 📷

BOOK STATS! Data visualisation! Nerdiness! 🤓

These are my reading #stats pulled from Goodreads. All that clustering in the top right corner means I've been reading mostly new releases. Not a surprise but it's cool to see it in chart form like this 😁 And I'm looking forward to seeing this chart change shape as my #192019challenge progresses.

carys14 I love nerdy stats like these (but should not be surprising since I am a nerdy statistician) 😁 7y

Sue This is very cool! I didn't know you could export data from Goodreads. 7y
Marchpane @sue while it is possible to export data to a spreadsheet, I didn't have to bother. Goodreads prepares the chart for you! It's not easy to find though, you need to go to My Books, then select Stats and then Publication Year. 7y

Just discovered the publication year option under stats on Goodreads #prettynifty

Laura317 Cool!! 7y
Gezemice I have seen that but most of mine are in the corner in a jumble. It would be nice if you could adjust the scale. 7y

This will probably be my last #audiobook of 2016..
And even though I am not big on math, and I do not have a background in statistics or probability or anything like that, #NakedStatistics is a really great and worthwhile read. Not something I would usually read, but I am glad I picked it up!
