Read two books in one week! I‘m off then was entertaining but it felt like it took me ages to finish it. Really loved reading a crime story again so immediately started the newest book in this series. #bookreport #weeklyforecast

I thought of that film when I bailed on Hape Kerkeling‘s book yesterday.

We watched it Saturday evening and I did like it. (Better than the book 😉) My significant other meant that many people sent one shouldn‘t hang expectations too high but, yes, I really like the film. Definitely would recommend it if you watched „Breaking Bad“.

And Littens, does it count as “getting up early” if I woke up at 6:40 a.m. but just got up at 8:30 a.m.❓🤔

You know, before I was bored by the style Hape Kerkeling tells his story (one, that, by the way, I couldn‘t really identify until I bailed), I was bored and annoyed by him inweaving milestones of his career history into his pilgrimage. The first time he did it I could believe that he thought about his early years while walking – but all the other times it had nothing to do with what he said before and was just narcissistic.

Another bail. 😟 Must be me at the moment.

On the back of the book it says “an extraordinary book full of humour, wisdom and warmth”.

i‘m sorry, I can‘t find none of those. I do recognise that writing it has a big meaning for the author, a well-known comedian in Germany, but I found it boring. 😴😴😴

I liked “Eat, Pray, Love” much more, even though this also is no masterpiece – but at least entertaining.

Unbelievable that this book already is 13 years old. I decided to see if all the praise it got is merited.

While I just browsed my book piles I was surprised by how many thrillers I chose to take with me. I also have, I think, the complete “Avalon”-series and the complete Noah Gordon ”The-Physician”-series (of which I am unsure how far I read it) but at the moment I just didn‘t feel like reading series – although, they _do_ sound promising. 😇

I really enjoyed this book. Hape Kerkeling is a German comedian, who walked to Santiago de Compostela in 2001 after he was ill for some time.
Of course the book is an entertaining and not a spiritual book, but in some sequences Hape talks about religion and mankind and you see his changes while he walks.
It was a great read, even if I don't like nonfiction books and diaries. 😊

Sarah83 @JazzFeathers I never read it or watched the movie, when I was little. 🙈 I try to catch up with all Michael Ende's books. 😊 6y
JazzFeathers @Sarah83 oh, l loved it as a child. I knew entire sequence almost by heart. My sister and l would populate our world with characters and names fron the story. I was obsessed. 6y
Sarah83 @JazzFeathers it sounds like that 💖 6y

Don't know about you, but I have definitely too much to read. 🙄 I also started #netgalley yesterday... Does anyone want my job and give me the money, so I can stay at home and read all day? Thank you. 😍💖

AlaMich Ha! If only!! 🤣 6y
Moony Yeah, I have too much to read, too. And in the evening almost the TV calls me.... 6y

rubyslippersreads #Netgalley is dangerous! 😄 6y
Sarah83 @rubyslippersreads definitely. The German edition is a bit curious, if they choose you or not. 🙈 6y

Why just only read one book at a time, if your tbr is overflowing? 😂 #fridayreads

rubyslippersreads I always have more than one book going at a time. 😊 6y
Sarah83 @rubyslippersreads I usually don't do it. I have the problem, that I can't concentrate on both books. 😒 6y
