Story of My Life | Helen Keller

Pickpick

This book is an amazing glimpse into the life of an ordinarily extraordinary lady. From her infantile ages until she passed college, Helen shares her sweet and unique experiences with us through a very simple and sometimes humorous language. Her struggles are different than the most of us, but it still feels like we have been a part of a similar hardship and go through her experiences like our own. It is brilliantly written. Give it a try.

I was initially not sure about reading any dystopian fiction or anything animal related, but I'm happy that i finally gave this book a try. It's so moving and so politically relatable even in the mordern times. This shows how democracy turns into dictatorship when we remain uneducated about what should be our own rights. I'm sure many have already read this book, but to those who haven't—do give this a try.

This is a really compelling and beautifully narrated book. I don't generally read anything that has to do with animals narrating or being the characters, but I have to say this is one of a kind exception. Anyone who has a cat, or any pet for that matter, will find this book amusing and relatable. The ending had me tear-eyed. Nana is so intriguing that he will have you feline good. Haha. I highly reccomend reading this book.

We Should All Be Feminists | Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

A very short but very, very impactful read. I think no one can bail on this book. Only 21 pages but brimming with quirky—and somewhat depressing—anecdotes about gender inequality. The way of writing and the inspiration of all of these thoughts and scenarios is very relatable to all the female residents of developing countries, and to some extent all of the female population on the Earth. I highly recommend reading this short book at least once.

Ali Wong didn't disappoint. My month of college entrance pressure and academic problems was made somewhat enjoyable just because of this highly hilarious and crazily informative book. This is a fantastic guide to finding one's inner adventurer, locating a nice Asian restaurant and landing a great guy while simultaneously being gross and not giving two flying fucks about it because it is all default to becoming a human.

Written in 1950s, it is still relevant in the 21st centuary and I believe one can always take something away from it, irrespective of their time period and circumstances. It is so impactful to read this book and simultaneously keep remembering all that we've already read and be proud of it. This book simply makes one think. It's about literature, politics and advancing technology. Everyone should atleast read this once in their lifetime.

Cat's Cradle: A Novel | Kurt Vonnegut

I remember, when I first saw this book on Goodreads I imagined it to be a light hearted comedy novel. I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. This book was very intellectually humorous and witty with addition of politics, religion, and science into the most credulous fictitious world that I've ever come across. I definitely reccomend this to everyone. #bookspin #bookspinbingo #bookspinaugust #cat #cradle #catscradle

And here's the #bookspinbingo ...! With Uni starting, I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete reading two books, let alone completing one bingo, but I'm still going to try my best! @TheAromaofBooks thank you again! ♡

TheAromaofBooks Sometimes it's fun to just check them off!!! Good luck!! 4y

"Darkness was cheap, and Scrooge liked it."

I didn't realize that I was becoming like Scrooge—the quarantine sped up the process a lot. I screenshot-ed this line (the entire page, actually) twice.

Anyway, I didn't realize that only ONE book could give me so many bingo points. Lmao.

This is simply a beautiful story with a heartwarming storyline. Though, I slept on it twice—I had to go shopping today and I was extremely tired—the story was very beautiful and more importantly short and nice. I was happy that I selected it for the #reversereadathon and replaced Anna Karenina with this. Plus, who doesn't love some Christmas vibes? I would definitely recommend this to everyone! First book down, four more to go.
