The story is being retold by one of the little boys that was on the boat with his mother, Tuan Ho. He was six at the time.

Throughout the book, one is shown the many different types of discoveries and experiences that Eugenie had, but some of the main focus is on sharks. I liked that this book can take something that can be scary to people, like the ocean, and show the amazing things about it such as the animals.

This book was published in 2002 and is a biography. The book is about a little girl who goes through her life of singing, but also mentions and emphasizes the hardships that she goes through in her life. One of them being her father passing away.
Aside from this, the book has beautiful illustrations and story telling. The songs that were sung by Marian are in the book and italicized so one is able to really read and interpret the songs sung.

Aside from all of the facts given throughout the book, one is able to stay engaged and intrigued with the constant illustrations of the sharks, their bodies, their teeth, and their fins.

This is a great book that gives extended background information on the insect, the ladybug. Not only is there a good amount of information throughout this book, but there are also illustrations on every page which allows for the reader(s) to see all of the different types of bugs that may be related to the ladybug.
Aside from this, the book is very engaging, especially if one is covering this topic within their classroom or curriculum.

This is a nonfiction book that was published in the year of 2013. It is a very informative book about the activity and hobby of bird-watching. Not only is there a jam packed amount of information about birdwatching within the book, but there is also a large amount of illustrations involved.

Another amazing book. This was a requirement to read when I was in grade school, but I forgot some of the story so I decided to reread it. Easy to say that I will not be forgetting this story again. This story is easy to relate to.
Aside from this, I think that the writing of the book is perfect for those that may be gradually working towards more mature writing styles. The morals that are taught throughout this book are subtle but necessary.

This book is one of my absolute favorite books of all time. There are few illustrations, but of the ones that there are explain so much about the story and how grim the setting is. It is an easy read, but does not have a casual or predictable storyline.
Aside from these points, the wording of the book is great. The imagination throughout and how the plot thickens is perfect for children who are looking to get into a different type of story.

Aside from that, I love that one is able to have a partner during the reading.
Not only do I like this book for those purposes, I also like the illustrations throughout. They are not too complex and are able to tell the story.

This book was kind of like the one that I reviewed last. The poetry tells a constant story but does so in a very rhythmic way. Doing this also makes it easy for the reader to understand what is going on not only by the writing, but also by the illustrations.

Other than this, there is a constant rhythm to these poems. Not all have the constant flow, but most of them are very rhythmic throughout.

I enjoyed this book. I like the subjects of the poems, bugs that come out at night. Children are not only gaining knowledge and understanding of rhythm but also about the subject of bugs that we usually do not see. It is very cute and well thought out.

Great book. I think that the idea of this book was brilliant honestly. Lately, I have been witnessing children apologize for something, but not really meaning it. I think that this book gives children the ability to laugh about these things but to also understand that one should not say it, if they do not mean it.
This book was able to give this idea and learning a sense of humor and understanding for the readers. The poems are very descriptive.

The poems were made to tell a story with each page. This book was like another book that I had read. I enjoy these types of poems because I think that it is a great way for children to start to understand poems before introducing them to poems that may have hidden meaning.
Aside from this, the poems told stories rather than feelings most of the time. The illustrations were a great aid to see what was going on within the story. Published in 2011.

This book was very unique. Not only were the illustrations different then most that one may see in a book, the poems were as well. Although each poem was different, each was telling and describing a scene that was happening on the page.
I really liked the set up of this book. This was able to show me, and I imagine many other readers, that not all poems are different or have a completely different meaning with every new page.

I loved this book. It was filled with many old poems that my mom and dad used to hear from her parents. They then passed them onto my sisters and I. All were very rhythmic.
Aside from the nostalgic poems and readings, I enjoyed the illustrations that came with them. Most were simple and followed along with the poem/story step by step new scenes. Even if the wording was a little hard to understand, the illustrations made it easy to follow along.

I think that this story is able to bring back memories, or start memories, with so many people(pub.2014). This reminded me of the book Joseph and His Little Overcoat. I love the message and story throughout that book, and I enjoy this one too.
Aside from the story, the illustrations were beautiful and simple. I liked the the words were set up too.

I enjoyed this book very much(pub.1985). I love having the cross cultural perspective that these Folktales are able to achieve and bring. These types of books are some of my favorites because it shows off cultures other than the one I live in.

I have never heard of this story. I enjoyed the story very much upon reading about it(pub.1988). I liked the story a lot. It was/is very different from most stories that i have read, but in the best way possible. I liked that the boy was actually just taking a nap.
Aside from the story itself, I really liked the illustrations. It allows for there to be a constant throughout the book and no overstimulation.
“Cheer up Mother. I have a plan.“

I liked this book. I used to have this read to me when I was little and it was, still is, one of my favorite books for children. I think that it brings the perfect level of fantasy and reality throughout.
Aside from the story, the illustrations were good and some realistic. Illustrations are very important to me, and I imagine most other people as well. I loved looking at the pictures and could not wait to see what was next.

I think that it is a great tale to be told to children, or anyone at any age(pub.2013). I liked the whole storyline of the gecko, being one of the smallest animals, being one of the bravest to get the water. I think that it teaches a value-able lesson to be brave.
Aside from that, I enjoyed the illustrations. I would say that they are very simple, but that there are plenty of colors and animals.

Easy to say I love this book. I love having or reading this book gives people the ability to show some type of diversity to the children. I love that objects that we look at daily have personality. There are stories like this in every culture(pub.1968).
Aside from the story itself, I love the illustrations. I like that the Moon, Sun, Water, etc., all have very detailed illustrations.

I really liked this book(pub.1971). At first, I was not sure if I wanted to continue reading because of the not so happy beginning. After the beginning, I enjoyed and saw were the book was going. I think it is a great read.
Aside from the story itself, I enjoyed the type of illustrations throughout the book. I liked how intricate they were, but also the cohesion of the colors.

I think that this book was great (pub.2017). I would say that it is a book that most people do not know, but should know. It brings real life issues into a light that is understandable and necessary for children to see.
The illustrations were beautiful. I liked all of the different types of point of views whether that be face on or above the characters.

I really likes this book(pub.2012). It is very friendly and easy for children, or any reader, to interact. I was even able to relate to this book. It brought back memories with my old teddy bear when I was younger.
Aside from the story itself, I loved the simplicity of the illustrations. I liked that the backgrounds were mostly plain white but the drawings of Bunny were simple with design.

I think the illustrations are very unique, and intricate. I had never seen illustrations like this before, but I hope to see more.

Something that I really appreciated throughout the book, aside from the message and writing style, were the illustrations. I loved the color usage and the simplicity, but also complexity of some pictures.

Great book for learning how to count (1984). The illustrations are cute and also show the need of having someone help teach these skills to the child in order for there to be success.
