Review: Ladybugs by Gail Gibbons, 2012, is a nonfiction story about ladybugs. Their anatomy, eating habits, and other information and facts about them.
Blurb: This is a good example of the genre because of all the factual information that the book contains, I would use it if children showed an interest in ladybugs and wanted to learn more about them.
Quote: “They also believe there are about 475 different types of ladybugs in North America.“

This book was super informative. From looking at the cover I didn‘t think it would be so educational but it truly was. This would be great to help kids learn about bugs and how they help our environment.

This is a great book that gives extended background information on the insect, the ladybug. Not only is there a good amount of information throughout this book, but there are also illustrations on every page which allows for the reader(s) to see all of the different types of bugs that may be related to the ladybug.
Aside from this, the book is very engaging, especially if one is covering this topic within their classroom or curriculum.

em_lemo Of course there is something within this book that surprised me or interested me. One of the facts that stuck out to me the most within this book was, “Ladybugs are beautiful to look at and interesting to watch, but they are important insects that help the environment.“ I liked this because I was not aware of how much ladybugs help the environment around us. 4y

A friend shared this with me when she read it. I‘m thinking ladybugs are actually leprechauns. Aye, must be it. 😂 #LitsyHumor

Hooked_on_books It definitely looks funny, but that‘s actually a type of plant with yellow flowers. 5y
Texreader @Hooked_on_books @mrbook awwww! I like the leprechaun theory. 🤣 5y

2012, nonfiction. Informational text about ladybugs that teaches about them in a story way. Pages are filled with drawn and detailed pictures of ladybugs and nature, with bold dark words in contrast. Tells about the stages of ladybugs and different information details about the effect of pesticides.

Ladybugs is a nonfiction book written by Gail Gibbons in 2012. This book is cool because it has very colorful, vibrant, detailed illustrations. However, it kind of distracts from the words on the pages. The images really makes the facts come to life throughout this book.

A really cute book that‘s engaging with great illustrations! Very informational, but tells it in a story-form. The pictures are inviting and fun. All I formation is given in a basic format, but makes it very easy to follow.
