Almost all of the poems include a rhyming aspect that are very fun and easy to read. Children would love to be able to hear these poems read out loud!

Mother Goose written and illustrated by Tomie DePaola was published in 2009. It is a collection of traditional Mother Goose Rhymes that children love. The poems are cheerful, and humorous that star the character Mother Goose and the familiar cast of characters. Parents can read these rhymes to young children or young readers can read them on their own.

Mother goose is always a great go to because it has all the classic poems that pretty much everyone knows. The use rhyme and rhythm in all the poems.

I loved this book. It was filled with many old poems that my mom and dad used to hear from her parents. They then passed them onto my sisters and I. All were very rhythmic.
Aside from the nostalgic poems and readings, I enjoyed the illustrations that came with them. Most were simple and followed along with the poem/story step by step new scenes. Even if the wording was a little hard to understand, the illustrations made it easy to follow along.

I would use this in my classroom as a read aloud and a silent read. I would use this in my classroom by allowing my students to see he pictures and get familar with the language.

“Three little kittens, lost their mittens.“

“and jill came tumbling after” I liked this quote becuase it sounds good it‘s a good line of rhythm

I would use this poem in class to introduce poetry because some kids might already know this poem

This is a poetry book. I read jack and jill on page 38. I like this poem because it‘s a classic and has rhythm

The down side of this book is that it is a lot of old english that children will not recognize.

Mother Goose by Tomie dePaola is a classic poetry book from 1985. This is a big book and with a large variety of poems. Some are long, some are short, and most poems rhyme. Each poem also has an illustration to go with it. I would use this in my classroom because it is so traditional and I grew up with it.

“Baa, has, black sheep, have you any wool? Yes sir, yes, sir, three bags full;”

This poetry book is one that all children should read and I would make sure to read them some of the poems maybe even in morning meetings.

My first mother goose by Tomie DePaola is a poetry book that contains many classic poems. This is a book most children should read within their lifetime because it has many classic poems and good stories to learn about. One of my favorites from this book was Baa baa black sheep. This poetry book is an epic narrative.
