I was deceived into being told this was a true crime book and it most certainly is not. However, after I got through some very boring parts about the history of the App. Trail, it turned into a book about the psychology of survival and how we act when lost. Now that is a topic I enjoy. This is the story of Gerry who goes missing hiking. One big problem is that the author tells us exactly what happened on the first page, so there is no suspense.

Love and Ruin: A Novel | Paula McLain

Obviously this book is going to be compared to The Paris Wife, but it is completely different. Martha and Hadley are completely different women, so their stories and feelings are different and that comes through in the book. I really enjoyed this, but I love all of Paula McLains books. Martha led such an interesting life and it was great to learn about everything she went through. #netgalley #advancedcopy

I listened to this book and it was the first Nicholas Sparks book I have ever read. It was decent. This seems more like a mystery or light thriller. The female character has a stalker and the whole book deals with that. I would read more of his books though.

Just finished reading the locke and key series. The art was fantastic and the storyline was very engaging. I liked the characters and liked that there were new keys in every book.

I just finished listening to this 26hr audiobook. The beginning was great! The last 15hrs were all about the trial. I didn't realize, but Bugliosi prosecuted them so he went into extreme detail about what happened during the trial. The rambling and details that I didn't care about brought this rating down. #popsugarchallenge #truecrime

Good Graphic novels. I kept comparing it to the Netflix series and saw some similarities. It was good to learn a little about the backstory.

This is an amazing book. It talks about what it was like to escape and to be trapped inside the towers. It was also interesting to learn about the short comings in the construction of the towers that led to more tragedy.

This was a fun, quick book to read. Sometimes you just need something easy to read without having to think about it.

This book was a bit dull and not as exciting as you would expect from the description. A group of friends decide to go white water rafting and then disaster strikes and they have to escape from the woods. These girls spend a surprising amount of time sleeping when they should be running. On a positive note the cover is amazing!

BookwormAHN I was quite frustrated by how many times they stopped but I also love the cover. 6y

Some really interesting ways that different cultures deal with death and it really makes you think of Alternative things we could be doing instead of traditional burial or cremation which has turned very commercial.

Great drawings and I enjoyed the story. A good perspective on how difficult it was to get out of Vietnam during the war.
