I loved this modern retelling of the Krampus myth! It has some really good conversations about the holiday season, how it‘s changed over time, religions impact, and what people want. I also really enjoyed the inventive back story between Krampus and Santa.

If you like Krampus, Yuletide, or anything having to do with Norse mythology, check out this book!

I was underwhelmed. There was a lot of repetition, it was poorly edited (so many typos and errors), and the prose was dry. It felt like a bad textbook. Bailey wasn‘t impressed either.

This book is all about the darker parts of this dark time of the year. You thought Halloween (Samhain) was dark? Wait until you read these tales! This is one of my favorite books. Meet Frau Perchta and many more.

Krampusnacht was on Dec 4, but I wanted to throw this one in there today too with the other holiday books I recommend. Krampus is my favorite being of this time. This book tells his side of the story, in a way you may not expect. I loved it! I hope to see a Krampus parade in Germany one day!

I read this book years ago and loved it. You‘ll learn all about the pagan history of ‘Christmas‘, especially the Scandinavian history. Have you ever seen mushrooms on the tree and wondered why they were there? Or why we drink cocoa at this time? Get ready for some fascination!
Loved this book!

Thank you so much @Gissy for my awesome #CreepyChristmas package! That tote is so cool! The Nightmare Before Christmas artwork is very pretty. I‘m most excited about the books though! I‘ve been wanting to read Brom‘s Krampus for awhile, and I love Silvia Moreno Garcia! Thanks again! And thanks to @teebe for hosting one of my favorite swaps! #CCS #CreepyChristmasSwap

Gissy I read Krampus and I loved that book, it is creepy and weird but I really enjoyed it. The other book is in my wish list.
The tote and artwork are from my favorite store online Society6. They sell many artworks, totes and mugs related with books. I thought you will like the tote since it is related with Krampus and the artwork because you said that movie was your favorite. There is a black tree to celebrate the creepy Christmas☺️Enjoy your reading

Wishing everyone who celebrates a Blessed Yule and joy in the returning light. This is the shortest day in our year in this hemisphere- do you have any traditions to mark it?

slategreyskies I generally light a candle and reflect on how it‘s a turning point in the year, how things will gradually get lighter as the days pass. I‘ve always really liked the winter solstice, more so than the summer one. Maybe because it feels like hope to me. ✨ 4w
TheKidUpstairs We get out into nature (went on a snow hike this morning), light candles, and usually make some sort of bird feeders. And watch the Winter Solstice episode of Little Bear with the littles. 4w
