Two months ago, I made a stellar decision and joined the Litsy community. Things have been splendid.

I've met a bunch of bookworms.
I've discovered a LOT of great books.
I've found a home.

To make things hella better, just a month ago, I was pleasantly surprised to have actually won @BarbaraBB 's generous giveaway! Wow. These are the books I have received. Boy, I am in cloud nine. Once again, thank you for your kindness. 🖤 #spotlightgiveaway

I‘ve recommended this a couple of other times on Litsy. I think everyone should give this book a chance. It‘s a true story that grabs your attention and makes you race to the finish. #spotlightgiveaway

BarbaraBB Thanks for participating. I really must read this one! 4y

Thank you for your generous #spotlightgiveaway, @BarbaraBB !

There is very little Litsy love for Iris Murdoch and I think more Littens should read her books!

Redwritinghood Love her, but I don‘t think I‘ve read this one. Stacked 4y
Tonton Under the Net is my favorite (edited) 4y
batsy I look forward to reading her novels! I've read only one of her philosophy books which I really liked but no doubt much went over my head 😆 4y
MommyWantsToReadHerBook Yay @Redwritinghood @Tonton @batsy glad to see some Littens are reading her! 4y
BarbaraBB I love Murdoch, but don‘t know this one. Thanks for bringing it up! 4y

This moving family saga is in my top five reads of all time and deserves more readers than it‘s gotten. Give it a go, Littens! Tag me if you do - I‘m always thrilled when I see someone read it. #spotlightgiveaway @BarbaraBB

Congratulations on 1001 followers, @BarbaraBB and thanks for the chance to win! 😃

💡 I respectfully submit that more people should read Brian Allen Carr... I was introduced to his weird, freaky brand of horror thanks to the enthusiasm of @Liberty

This particular book was unsettling and unusual, but such a trip to read. I also really loved Motherfucking Sharks, but it seems have had more exposure on Litsy.

vivastory This is such a strange book 4y
2BR02B Sounds really interesting. Thanks for the rec! 4y
Tonton Whoa adding to tbr 4y
BarbaraBB Thanks for bringing this up 😘 4y

Library at Night | Alberto Manguel
post image

Congratulations on 1,001 followers @BarbaraBB It's definitely well deserved! Alberto Manguel very well might be my favorite literary critic. No other living writer has more thoroughly explored the meaning of, & the ethics of, "the art of reading." All three volumes, while different, have been constant companions for years. I really can't say enough great things about them.

Palimpsest I love Alberto Manguel‘s books. Out of these three you‘ve highlighted I‘ve not read Imaginary Places. I recently read his Packing my Library book and loved it like everything else I‘ve read of his. Wonderful to see someone else who likes his works. 😊 4y
vivastory @Palimpsest Imaginary Places is so much fun to randomly dip into! He writes so thoughtfully & elegantly about literature & reading, I always get new insights when I reread him. I still need to read Packing My Library. I think I'm going to order it now 😄 4y
Kammbia1 I will have to check out Imaginary Places. (edited) 4y
vivastory @Kammbia1 I hope you love it! 4y
BarbaraBB Sounds incredible. Why have I never heard of him?! 4y

To Sir, With Love | E. R. Braithwaite

Hello @BarbaraBB! Thank you for the #spotlightgiveaway! What a thoughtful idea, and certainly adds some great recommendations to our TBR.
I would go with this autobiography - reflecting on fight against prejudice, teacher student bond, and above all, perseverance.

Congrats @BarbaraBB on your Litsy milestone ❤️ Thanks for this fabulous #spotlightgiveaway! I'm going to highlight this beautiful book that got quite a bit of critical praise but maybe didn't quite make a big splash because it's a quiet, self-contained, & ultimately devastating book about a young Tamil man's experience in the war camp towards the end of the Sri Lankan war. Hard to read but elegant, philosophical, & emotionally true.

BarbaraBB Coming from you that book goes straight to my TBR. Thank you for participating 😘 4y
