A fairly intermediate bread baking book - though I think that most sourdough books are intermediate bread baking because of the natural yeast aspects of it.
I lived with a year of flat loafs until I found a "method" that worked with our humid climate and my timings. Hopefully I will be able to convert some of the recipes noted here into something that works for me.

For me, curiosity-driven science is a very interesting researching field, especially in the connection with nature. How fascinating is the fact that the trees have memory, that they can decide things⁉️ This heartwarming story is presentation of a complicated life of a scientist, from personal to professional struggles/sacrifices, and this story is also beautiful, simple ode to the nature, friendship and patience.

Chernobyl: The History of a Nuclear Catastrophe | Serhii Plokhy

This was both an absorbing read and a terrifying one. I was 15yrs old when Chernobyl happened & vividly remember the atmosphere of horror at the time, a feeling that I‘d say has stayed with everyone old enough to remember it. This was not only a highly detailed account but also a very readable one without that feeling of academia a lot of science heavy books have. This is a fascinating and horrifying look at the history of extinctions and what humans have wrought upon the earth. I listened to this on audio and I‘m not sure I loved the narrator. Bookzombie @Reggie That is not a dumb question at all. When I started it, my husband was like “why do that to yourself?” It was a mix of both for me. The author includes some levity throughout via her personal experiences, but some of the info is just sad. Also, I don‘t recommend the audio. I think the narrator wasn‘t the right choice and I wish I had switched to print. 5y
