Day 5 #JuneBookBugs #smugmarrieds I think all of my choices for books with smug married couples like most of Jane Austen's work & Bridget Jones's Diary have been picked a lot for this prompt, so I just decided to go with the last book chock full of smug marrieds that I've read, Big Little Lies. Although most of the marriages had issues--some much worse than others--in public, both in the book & series, these couples were pretty damn smug.
The #SmugMarrieds #JuneBookBugs prompt brought this to mind: "I feel contentment and pride as Victor and I pause our shouting to share a smug, knowing smile with each other as we pass the baffled couple, who move to give us room on the sidewalk."
