⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Stronger than the first book in the series, this is basically nonstop action. It‘s a fun, quick read, and if you like teen adventure stories, this is definitely one to check out!

CrowCAH Are you going to continue and read the third book which recently came out?! I own the third, but haven‘t read it yet. 🏴‍☠️ 2mo
behudd @CrowCAH yes! That‘s why I‘m doing this reread because I didn‘t remember it at all 😅 starting book 3 tonight! 2mo

“The sound of my knife slitting across a throat feels much too loud in the darkness.”

This makes the books seem much darker than it is 😅

Already reading for Riverbend Books standing orders. This one is a #marchrso2024. #currentlyreading #fantasy #sirens #romance #quests #nautical Have managed to avoid many of the siren books, but I suspect this one is similar. Plus a #treefern #summerholidays #readingandreviewing #noschool

(2023) It's a YA fantasy about a siren finding her way in a walled city where sirens are outlawed. Saoirse uses her magical man-killing powers as a freelance assassin, but then gets a job as the prince's bodyguard. Which gets awkward when she has to investigate a murder she herself committed. And more awkward when she falls in love. It's a little too YA for me (The angst! The super special specialness! The luuurve!) but others have loved it.

Jari-chan I really like the cover, but reading your review, I know it's not for me😅 7mo
swynn Hope I didn't scare you off a book you'd enjoy, but you know your tolerance for YA and this is very. It's a good book, but for a different audience 7mo

Slow start with a nonstop ending. Saorise is the last siren in a world that views her negatively for all the killings her kind has done. This alone in a world where only fae control fate. Humans and every other species are inferior, servant. The politics of this world are invigorating. Great setup for the mystery ending. Hayes is a cinnamon roll. Didn‘t care for most other characters. Including wanting these two together. Ending felt last second.

I got a couple of YA adventures for #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin this month: a recent fantasy and a science fiction story so vintage that its blurb calls it "rip-snorting." (Um, whaddya say we don't revive that expression, yeah?)

Thanks for the early release, @TheAromaofBooks !

TheAromaofBooks I do love the cover for the rip-snorting adventure 😂 8mo
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I‘d probably have picked up that book entirely based on the rip-snorting blurb. 🤣😂🤣 8mo
swynn @MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm The blurb, the art, the whole thing just screams “Gee whiz!“ doesn't it? I love this stuff. 8mo

It took me a minute to get into the book but once I hit the second half I was hooked. The ending was gripping, satisfying and left me wanting the next book desperately. My favorite character was Prince Hayes❤️❤️❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ overall loved it and highly recommend.
