Pickpick

Just finished binge watching season 2...I am not going to spoil it for those that have not watched it yet but I do have mix feelings about it. Don't get me wrong, I did like it. I was hooked from the very first episode. However, I do wish there was more romance to the story, especially when I enjoyed the book so much.
Did you watch it? What did you think?
#bridgerton #season2

wanderinglynn I haven‘t watched it yet, but I found the review in the Washington Post interesting: https://www.washingtonpost.com/tv/2022/03/23/bridgerton-season-2-review/ 2y
julesG Binged it on Friday. I liked the book much more. This series felt like it had "middle book syndrome". 2y
julesG @wanderinglynn thanks for sharing. Spot on, I'd say. 2y

Chrissyreadit Im watching it now- I love Eloise and Penelope the best- so am probably going to read the series so I can find out what happens to them. I really am enjoying the show though I wish it was a little more romantic. 2y
wanderinglynn @Chrissyreadit I‘ve read the book & enjoyed it. Based on the WaPo article, I‘m guessing I‘m still going to love the book more. Besides even though Jonathon Bailey (Anthony) is cute, he‘s no Regé-Jean Page. ? 2y
Chrissyreadit @wanderinglynn for real 🔥🔥🔥🔥 2y
Christy2318 I loved the books & I loved the show. For me, the slow burn of the romance this season worked. Season 2 deviates from the books a lot. I like tv Eloise & her storyline much better but preferred how the books handle the Lady Whistledown storyline. 2y
vonnie862 @julesG "Middle book syndrome" ? 2y
vonnie862 @Christy2318 I liked the slow burn too but I felt that the other side stories kind of took away from it towards the end. 2y
vonnie862 @Chrissyreadit I feel yah! I've been reading the books with the seasons. I'll be reading the third book soon and I might jump into the 4th one sooner to quench my curiosity. 2y
vonnie862 @wanderinglynn Thanks for the article! 2y

I didn‘t like the book #ThirteenReasonsWhy but I really enjoyed the first season on #Netflix. I am currently watching the second season. I can‘t decide if I like this second season. I don‘t think I‘m a fan of Hannah appearing as a ghost... Have any of you watched the second season yet?

2BR02B I read a few articles that derided the second season as sensationalist and heavy on shock value, and have decided not to watch it. 6y
ephemeralwaltz Yeah I wasn't a fan of ghost Hannah but really enjoyed the season regardless! Get ready for a crazy ride. 6y
ephemeralwaltz @2BR02B for sure, the last episodes. I don't think I'll be watching the 3rd season because it seems they decided to close the Hannah storyline and will focus on other stories from the way they left things...not a fan 🙅 But I did enjoy the season and really goes deeper into the magnitude of the problem of rape culture. 6y

tonyahoswalt I'm slowly watching season 2 6y
OrangeMooseReads Didn‘t like the second season. I didn‘t love the first season, it was ok, but I found the book much more interesting. 6y
GloVerdino I thought the book was great, but I did not like the show at all - I thought it lost the real essence of the book. And I will not be watching season 2 6y
AJones I also preferred season 1 over 2. I haven‘t read the book, as of yet. So I can‘t compare. 6y
phatsallylee I haven't read the book. The first season was great. The second season tried to hard. It was all over the place. They are making a 3rd season so who knows where that one will go. 6y
Julies_Bookshelf_Adventures I‘m the opposite, I enjoyed the book but didn‘t like how they did the show. I thought it was really missing something that made the book so good. 6y
LibrarianRyan It was way over the top but I did enjoy it. 6y
Purrfectpages I only watched episode one of season two, but I was a bit bored. I‘m not sure a second season was necessary. And I hear there will be a third! 6y
Jess7 I thought season 2 of the show started off a little shaky and part of me wanted it to be over until it built up toward the last half of the episodes and I then I liked it a lot more. Season 2 was very suspenseful toward the end of it. If you watched season 1 and liked it— it‘s worth watching season 2. 6y
Jess7 Personally the reason I disliked the book so much was I did not think any of the characters were developed enough for me to care about them and as such I thought the important topic of suicide wasn‘t handled in a way to make it resonate. I felt the series did a better job showing the real impact of suicide. 6y
