Read the first 3 books in this series in October. The MC‘s mom dies and leaves her a house/store in this little town. She also can see ghosts and talk to them. There are all sorts of magical creatures in this town, vampires, werewolves and more. This series is a lot of fun and can‘t wait to pick up the rest.

Not sure what drama is going on with this book or author, but Goodreads wouldn‘t let me rate it. I liked it. Some of the sex scenes were a bit much, but overall I liked all the characters and the story.

I might be a big fan of hockey romances now!

Laughterhp @mcctrish It‘s usually when they see a weird influx in reviews whether they‘re bad or good, they‘ll turn off the ability to rate them. This isn‘t the first time this has happened to me, but I don‘t remember what the other book was. 2mo

TheBookHippie @mcctrish it kept happening to ladies in my bookstore book club. They say it‘s certain titles and subjects 😵‍💫 so they went to StoryGraph .. apparently people try to get books bad reviews on purpose- especially if the author is Black or Jewish and now it seems many titles for reasons they cannot figure out . Wild. So I‘m not sure but it all seems related to censure. Oy. 2mo

Faranae Review bombing/boosting is definitely a thing. Sometimes it's because an author deserves to be bombed, sometimes it's just nonsense kicked up on TikTok, and then there's a whole contingent of people who routinely downrate their marginalised group of choice - queer authors, and especially trans authors, pretty much have to assume reviews will bury them in the algorithm. 2mo

I had never read a polyamorous romance before and I was curious. This is also the smuttiest book I‘ve ever read. A bit too spicy and at least one too many men. I did love Cay and Jake‘s relationship.

If you want smut starting on page 3 and zero storyline? This is the book for you. That being said, realizing that these were originally 3 novellas, I get the lack of substance but can‘t really get past it when it‘s combined into a 400+ page edition. Every issue was solved with smut. So much so that it was almost every few pages. And after 400 pages?? That gets old.

It could‘ve been a deeper story, but it sadly didn‘t go very far.
