I was checking in today and noticed the number and had a good laugh. Normally I am not super into getting this number up but I do enjoy seeing the statistics breakdown. Thanks all for enjoying my reading journey.

Consider this my analytical love letter to Littens far and wide.

The past three years have been a wild ride! My taste has changed. I‘ve become harder to impress, and simultaneously embraced the randomness of my mood reading. My star ratings are more about enjoyment than flawlessness or memorability.

You are a part of that awesome experience. 🧡

Blaire Do you keep these stats yourself? 6mo
CouronneDhiver Nope 😂 I was time wasting ... scrolled back through my ratings (the closed book icon on the profile page) and did a tally. @Blaire 6mo
Crazeedi @CouronneDhiver this is a great idea! You've done great! 6mo

I am happy with the number of books I finished in 2018, but I am not particularly happy that I didn‘t read the longer classics I hoped to get to, nor did I read as widely as I would have liked. In #2019, I‘m targeting 48 books, which will include lengthy novels, plays, graphic novels/nonfiction/comic bind ups, and poetry as well as my usual fiction and nonfiction selections. 📚❤️

Here‘s my #2018wrapup — overall it was a good reading year! This is the first year I did any kind of tracking and I really enjoyed getting a deeper look at my habits. Here are my goals for next year:
📚use my kindle for at least 25% of my reads
📚read more nonfiction
📚read through Andrea Gibson‘s backlist

The Craft of Research, Fourth Edition | Wayne C. Booth, Gregory G. Colomb, Joseph M. Williams, Joseph Bizup, William T. FitzGerald

But in business and government, in law and medicine, in politics and international diplomacy, no skill is valued more highly than the ability to recognize a problem, then to articulate it in a way that convinces others to both care about it and believe it can be solved, especially by you.

But to make your research matter to others, you have to say more than”Here is something I find interesting”. You have to show them how solving your problem helps them solve theirs.

The consequences of a conceptual problem...

We solve a conceptual problem not by doing something to change the world, but by answering a question that helps us understand it better.
