Fairy Tale | Stephen King

I liked this! My favorite King book is still 'The Stand' (and probably always will be) but his unique way of story telling shone bright throughout his latest book. I simply like the way this guy a writes. I like all the details. I like how he gets you to really care and relate to a character. The way he gets you to imagine an entire world under a world is pretty darn neat in my opinion.

It gets a 4 star rating from me. #recommendread

Oh my gosh! This was so interesting and so much better than I would of thought. Thanks to #bookspinbingo this was my # 15 #doublebookspin pick - I was finally "forced" to read this! Lol I'm SO very glad. This is a true book about the life of a young midwife in London in the 1950s. The stories of poverty and resiliency of the women during this time in unreal. Amazing.
Apparently this book is now a BBC TV series as well!

I don't usually read psychological thrillers..but this was pretty darn good!! I knew there was a twist at the end, but STILL didn't see it coming. 🤯 There are a ton of great Litsy reviews which is why I had to pick it up. It was a #blameitonLitsy for sure. #recommendread 📚💕

Pumpkinandegg313 I really need to read this one! 4y

'The Guy on the Right' by Kate Stewart

Super cute, super fun, romantic comedy! I have never read anything by Kate Stewart before this. I am impressed! If you like Colleen Hoover, you'll like her. I devoured it in less than a day. (I need to stop reading and clean my house and do the adult things now.)

It's not yet in the Litsy shelves, hopefully they add it in soon. It is FREE on Amazon if you have Kindle Unlimited!

LibrarianJen I saw this while browsing but passed over it. Maybe I should give it a shot after all. 5y

Such a page turner! Have you watched the Denzel Washington movie 'The Equalizer'? The character of Isaiah reminds me of Denzel's character. Smart as hell, quiet, super observant, and out to bring down the bad guys.
I'm having a hard time putting this one down and getting anything accomplished. (I've heard the audiobook version is really good as well in case you are looking for one!)

I loved this movie and read the book because it was a book club pick. I very much enjoyed it! Solid 4 stars.
I love the characters and the voices. I liked the crazy timeline and short chapters. Loved the little town news clips in between.
I hate that the ending in the movie made it seem like Ninny and Idgie were the same person. The book is clear that they were seperate people because Ninny married Idgy's brother. 🙄
Definitely a #recommendread

QueenJen Nah, just that Idgy was still alive. I believe at the beginning of the movie it states that she married Idgy's brother. This was one that I loved both the book and movie 5y
MrBook Great review! Loved this book and movie! 5y
ItsAnotherJen @QueenJen Oh boy, now I need to rewatch it! It has been many years since I have seen it. 5y
QueenJen @JenFowler I get it. I remember being confused about that the first time I saw it too. 5y

I have wanted to read one of these Bill O'Reilly books for years. I remember patrons coming in and wanting to read one after the other...and they would all say how riveting they were. How unlike any other history books they were.
I finally read one!
So interesting. I learned a lot about what really happened when Lincoln was assassinated. The events leading up to that fateful day, and what followed was crazy.

I would read this again. Many aspects of Christopher Knight I can relate to. I find this story endlessly fascinating.... his thoughts and ideas about life/solitude are interesting. I think its true how often genius gets compared to crazy.

"Silence, it appears, is not the opposite of sound. It is another world altogether, literally offering a deeper level of thought, a journey to the bedrock of the self."

AmyG I was fascinated by this book. 7y
ItsAnotherJen "The life inside a book always felt welcoming to Knight. It pressed no demands on him, while the world of human interactions was so complex." #truth ? 7y
ItsAnotherJen @AmyG Yes!! Same. In almost every single positive review of this book, the word "fascinated" is used! 7y
