I loved this book. I think I liked it more than book 1. I really enjoyed all of the references to #AmericanHistory tidbits that I recently learned about from the #podcast Stuff You Missed in History Class. The audiobook is also really well done. #racism #ghost #psychic #1920s #chineseamericanhistory #lgbtcharacter #queerbook #queerfantasy #trauma

I enjoyed this second book more than the first. Without the competition to the death trope, the characters were able to come into themselves better, and the story was more engaging. #lgbt #lgbtq #genderfluid #lgbtfantasy #lgbtliterature #queerbook #queerfantasy #lgbtcharacter

This was a well written and interesting book. I was excited to find a fantasy work with agender fluid protagonist. The protagonist's fluidity felt really well written and characterized as well. I don't love the kill-your-competetors-one-will-live trope, but it was well executed. #fantasy #lgbt #lgbtliterature #queerbook #queerfantasy #lgbtcharacter #genderfluid #competitiontothedeath

I loved this book. It was a fun read set in an awesome world. The ending felt a little rushed but also awesomely earned, which was a weird mix of impressions to have. #lgbt #lgbtliterature #lgbtfantasy #magic #music #elemental #lgbtcharacter #queerbook #queerfantasy

I read this in high school, during which time I was a struggling reader. I missed many of the details because reading was hard, but I enjoyed reading this book anyway. It was a fun experience, and I loved the connections between magic users. #magic #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtfantasy #lgbtliterature #bard #horses #lgbtcharacter #queerfantasy #queerbook

This book offered a fun storyline and an interesting exploration of anxiety and PTSD (whether on purpose or by coincidence, I don't know). I had some trouble seeing the villain as a character. #lgbt #lgbtfantasy #lgbtq #lgbtliterature #ghost #magic #anxiety #queerbook #queerfantasy #lgbtcharacter #trauma

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It took several directions I didn't expect, and the characters were fun to get to know. #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtauthor #lgbtfantasy #magic #thief #prince #lgbtliterature #lgbtcharacter #queerbook #queerfantasy

This book had some shining moments. It was a fun read, and I think a few years ago I might have liked it. It reads like a fanfic of itself, though, and the characters seem to break character a lot. The story is fun. #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtfantasy #lgbtliterature #queerbook #queerfantasy #lgbtcharacter

This is one of my favorite fantasy series. The characters are very well developed, and the plot has some surprises and many fun breadcrumbs. #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtfantasy #lgbtliterature #trauma #grief #lgbtcharacter #queerbook #queerfantasy
