Bathtime reading much deserved and needed after a day with a grumpy teething baby and my partner spending time with a friend who came from out of town. So far the first story in this collection has made me laugh out loud twice, so that's a good sign. #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks
I'm starting the January pick for #LGBTbookclub a bit early since my hold on the library audiobook came in much quicker than I expected. I really like it so far, it has a dreamy fairy tale vibe but like the old school Brothers Grimm kind, dark and witchy. The #audiobook voice actor is very good. #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks @AbigailJaneBlog
This fun, bittersweet novella is a smart genre mashup: a bit noir 1940s mystery, a magical fantasy, angels and demons, and a doomed (?) sapphic romance. It feels like an unfair critique to say you wanted more from a novella, but I would have liked a bit more room to get to know the characters and for the mystery to unfold. Polk does a great job creating a moody period piece appropriate atmosphere. I liked the Chicago details and the 40s slang.
This is so delightful, very noirish but magical and sapphic, set in 1941 Chicago. The secret gay bar scene reminded me of A League of Their Own! And January LaVoy is such an amazing #audiobook voice actor. #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks
This is an experimental novel / not really a novel by western conventional standards, as it is just as much academic theorizing as a narrative. On the sentence level I found a lot to love here, BRB is such an amazing wordsmith/poet. As a piece of fiction this is a meandering collection of conversations and throughts that ask questions and broach topics w/ no answers or resolutions. If you like that kind of thing + smart poetic writing, read this.
My best queer books of the year is up today on Autostraddle dot com! This list is truly a labour of love and a very difficult thing to put together because there is so much abundance in queer lit today. Did your favourite queer books of the year make the list? Let me know! #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks #LGBTQ #TransBooks #BisexualBooks https://www.autostraddle.com/92-of-the-best-queer-books-of-2022/
From one sapphic holigay romance to another! At first I tried Season of Love as an #audiobook, but it didn't work for me (bad southern accent, yikes) so I am switching to print. Fingers crossed! #HappyHoligays #Romantsy #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks
I love books and movies that feature #food and really enjoyed this #graphicnovel. It‘s cute. 🧑🍳💋

⭐️ Utterly DELIGHTFUL. ⭐️
Fans of Little Women who love remakes and modern takes on this classic story (and who won‘t mind creative liberties) and who also want to see more diversity will enjoy this graphic novel.
