Well, of course! 🐶📚
And now for something completely different…. I started this as a buddy read with a coworker while I was in a slump and had to focus it on it this weekend like it was my job. Over 700 pages and jn the beginning I was feeling every one of them- suddenly though it all clicked and I was there for it all the epic adventures, the violence, the vulgar insults, the friendships and betrayals. It was quite a ride.
My friend asked me to read this as she just got back into reading and remembered it as a favorite from middle school ish age- and It was pretty good! Creepy, atmospheric- reminded me of Coraline a bit- and I do recommend as an easy Halloween time read.
All I can say is Abercrombie is amazing when he puts a series together it fits so well … l‘m not going to give hints as to what happened but it so worth the read. His books just flow and before you know it your done and wondering what to read next of his … loved it
This is not like other black company books it‘s different but that‘s a good thing. This was very entertaining and complex. Really enjoyed this read
I did not like this book. It was very simplistic in it's interpretation of institutional sexism, racism, colonialism, cultural genocide, and religious brainwashing.
All of the characters were one dimensional, there was hardly any worldbuilding outside the dense magical info dumping, and it was very predictable.
Okay I loved this … but that ending I mean what an ending… I can‘t with this series… I have to find out wth happens next so yes I‘m starting the next one just so I know what is going on … you know how most of the time the second book is just a filler … well, this is not that, it‘s so much more and it really makes you think about the whole series and characters… this was epic I can‘t wait to start on the next book

Kept distracting myself with other things this past week which meant it took a little while to read this book…Even more entertaining than I expected, I enjoyed this story about Gabriel de Leon, the last of the silversaints, who is forced to tell his story to a jailer desperate to pry some very important information from him. Lots of action (and death), vampires, betrayal, adventure, love, danger—as I said, an entertaining fast paced story.
