My second time travel book in less than 3 weeks!! That must please you @Centique 😜This was fine, nothing outstanding - Audio was less than 5 hours so a super short book - a pleasant pallet cleanser but nothing that will stay with me #BorrowNotBuy

Cinfhen The descriptions of the Amalfi Coast left me breathless!! #ArmChairTravel #Bliss #Paradise #Heaven 7mo
Centique I‘m slowly converting you 😂😂 7mo

Hey, Al, a Caldecott medal winning book, is a heart warming story about a janitor and his dog who take an offer to go to paradise. To escape his job as a janitor, they go on the journey of their lives, only to discover they eventually miss home and that was heaven for them. UDL 9.2 aligns with this book because it shows how people cope with situations. Esol strategy 10 would fit well with this book. Have students pair and share. #ucflae3414su20

CameoD This is a wonderful resource to use for pre-reading information, or after you read. It contains information on the author, a summary, and then activities or discussion topics to use with students. http://faculty.salisbury.edu/~elbond/heyal.htm 3y
Viviannef Just by reading your post, I‘m intrigued to read this book! Thank you so much for this resource, it has so many different classroom classroom connections :) and how to use it in different subjects as well! 3y
DrSpalding This is a wonderful story. You could read it aloud using the resource you found and connect this to the custodial staff at your school. You could then bring in your custodians and have them formally introduce themselves and describe how they support the students‘ education. 3y

#Paradise #BoundTogetherJune

“...finding a magnificent red stallion...and finally discovered him in a hidden island paradise...”

OriginalCyn620 I loved The Black Stallion when I was a kid! 3y
CrowCAH @OriginalCyn620 me, too! I went through a whole horse phase, where I read The Saddle Club and Heartland books! 3y
OriginalCyn620 I had a horse phase too! 🐎 3y
BookDragonNotWorm I remember The Saddle Club! And Walter Farley's books, Misty of Chincoteague and Stormy... Guess I went through a horse phase as well! 3y
CrowCAH @BookDragonNotWorm yes, I read those, too! But I never got into Phantom Stallion, a bit after my horse craze period. 3y

Tilly was a bright, outgoing little girl who liked playing with ghosts and matches. She loved fizzy drinks, swear words, fish fingers and Catholic churches, but most of all she loved living in Brighton in Queenie Malone's Magnificent Paradise Hotel with its loving family of misfits.
But Tilly's childhood was shattered when her mother sent her away to boarding school with little explanation and no warning. ⬇️
#paradise #boundtogetherjune

JoScho Now, Tilda has grown into an independent woman still damaged by her mother's unaccountable cruelty. Wary of people, her only friend is her dog, Eli. But when her mother dies, Tilda goes back to Brighton and with the help of her beloved Queenie sets about unraveling the mystery of her exile from The Paradise Hotel and discovers that her mother was not the woman she thought she knew at all ... 3y
