At #nycc2017 I had the pleasure of hearing Laurie Halse Anderson & Emily Carroll speak in a panel about their forthcoming graphic novel of SPEAK! I love Anderson so much more after this. She is a powerful speaker and an amazing role model. I also wasn't sure how I felt about this book as a graphic novel given the sensitivity of the subject matter, but now that I've seen a sampler and heard their thoughts on it, I think it's the best idea!
