So this comic is completely new to me, but it looks like something I would have loved as a kid! I was fanatical about Archie comics.

Candy is about a midwestern girl named Candace who was apparently very sweet but also had a mind of her own. It was published in the 40s and 50s.

This book caused such a scandal when it was released in the 60s. I remember it was verboten in our house—not for kids! It was actually written by a man, Donald Bain, though it was touted as a memoir by two “airline stewardesses. The “stews” were written as lusty and insatiable sex babes (naturally, in the male mind!). When I thought of the song, “No Sugar Tonight” I thought of this book...no sugar, and just no 🚫 to the book as well!

Dndlnz @SoniaC I‘m torn about the book and his theory. I‘m diabetic. After great A1C for 2 years it doubled. I‘ve spent about 8 weeks on the keto diet. I‘m not perfect — it‘s HARD. I‘ve lost about 6 lbs - not much. Blood sugar down a little. By far biggest help is intermittent fasting 20+ hours. Much more effective than keto. I‘d say go keto — but FAST 24 hours each week. When fasting bs drops and stays low a few days regardless of diet. 5y
