Pride and Prejudice | Jane Austen

Yes, I have a degree in English. Yes, I read classics. Somehow, I have never gotten all the way through Pride and Prejudice. It‘s the August pick for the #mmdbookclub, so I‘m diving in with Rosamund Pike as narrator! #modernmrsdarcy #audible #audiobook

AntoinetteBuchanan Oh to be reading it for the first time! 4w
sprainedbrain I hope you love it! ❤️ 4w

I enjoyed this book! It made me think about food differently, and I love how she explained the disguises and addressed how people are treated differently and made to feel inferior based on their physical appearance and other factors. I am even more determined to be kind to others! I didn‘t think a book about a food critic‘s job was for me, but I was wrong! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #mmdbookclub #modernmrsdarcy

I started listening to this yesterday. It‘s the #mmdbookclub selection for July. I don‘t consider myself a foodie, but it‘s interesting so far (21% in)! #modernmrsdarcy

I've tagged this as horror, but it's pretty mild - I should probably have chosen a Stephen King for this prompt! 5 🌟

rkeo This book is so good. I always recommend it to people. One of my friends forced me to read it years ago. I thought it would be so dumb, and I was blown away. 1mo

Wow! This was one of those young adult/children‘s books that is so well written it could be an adult‘s book. It deals with tough subjects like disability, generational abuse, war, adoption, and poverty in nuanced ways. Well-written and hopeful, yet, I wouldn‘t recommend to a child without someone to help them make sense of the tough stuff. So glad I picked this one up on #modernmrsdarcy ‘s recommendation.

I should be putting away laundry or reading work email, but it‘s a beautiful day to go to Books in Bloom instead. This local author gave a great presentation about her latest book and then signed copies. I‘d never heard of this, but it sounds intriguing. I can also use it for the #modernmrsdarcy challenge: a book you chose for the cover.

Mitch Laundry and work emails can wait! 🤣🤣🤣 3mo

Let‘s see how many of these I can knock out in June. #ModernMrsDarcy.com has 30 books in their summer reading guide. I just started 2015 in my TBR backlist project. #HugoNuts are still reading The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Luckily, #ReeseWitherspoonsBookClub picked something I have already read. It looks like it‘s going to be a busy summer ☀️

Summer is finally here for me! My nursing semester ended yesterday!I am so happy and have extremely missed this awesome Litsy community!! I‘m looking forward to reading these books along with catching up on book club reads!! This is @annebogel aka #ModernMrsDarcy summer reading list! If your into podcasts and haven‘t listened to hers yet you must check it out. It‘s called What Should I Read Next. Are you all using any special lists this summer?

LiteraryinLititz Welcome back and congrats! 3mo
MelissaSue81 No summer lists for me. My semester end Tuesday, but I have a feeling with how my summer work schedule planned out I‘m going to have less time to read instead of more. 3mo
Bookwormjillk I just added a bunch of books from her list to my library holds. Love her podcast 3mo

fleeting I'm already preparing mine (summer starts in June for me) and there's going to be a lot of book series like Ali Smith's seasonal books, Rachel Cusk's trilogy, and a Chinese sci-fi trilogy because I figure this is a good time without many interruptions! 😊 3mo
Suet624 Welcome back 3mo
MayaB1226 Congratulations on your nursing semester ending! I‘ve only read one of those books (Field Notes On Love), but I see a whole bunch more that look super interesting. Of course, I‘ll have to get through my own overflowing TBR pile first! 😂 Thank you for sharing…happy reading!! 3mo

This book did a great job dealing with the emotions of high school, loss, first love, friendship, and so much more. I am glad it was a book club pick! I don‘t know if I would have found it otherwise. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #modernmrsdarcy #mmdbookclub
