I am enjoying this book SO much!
TRUE enemies to lovers:

“And in that unlikely moment, as she held his dagger poised high, ready to strike, Royce thought she was the most magnificent creature he‘d ever beheld; a wild, beautiful, enraged angel of retribution, her chest rising and falling with fury as she courageously confronted an enemy who towered over her.”

If he‘s not thinking of how beautiful I am as I‘m about to kill him, he‘s not the one.

I've tried to read so many old school romances for a variety of podcasts and you know what? This one is the one that has hit. I am delightfully surprised by it!

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I remember reading this one back in the day, I loved it then, I‘m glad it held up! 2y
khooliha @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Ooh, thanks for the rec! 2y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa You‘re very welcome. I was a huge romance reader in high school and college, and there are a few that I loved and remember well. I still have those 2 sitting on my shelves. Another one you might like is Night Magic…which stars a romance writer who gets caught up in a story. 2y

Skimmed some of this because it was just not the best. When an author uses the Scottish accent in dialogue it just grates a bit. Ah well it‘s done and will be passed along.

Not sure what happened to the Litsy stickers but my magnifying glass wasn‘t there! 🤔 not a huge fan of the new ones either.

Like Hawk, this took a long time to get get into the relationship. I still enjoyed it but it didn‘t keep me reading until the wee hours of the night like some books do.

I thoroughly enjoy retellings of old fairy and folk tales, and this version of The Pied Piper of Hamlin does not disappoint. Dickerson has taken the bones of the story about the piper who leads a horde of rats out of the city of Hamlin by enchanting them with his piper music and added some very interesting twists that engage the reader right away. Strong female protagonist is a plus.

This Pied-Piper reimagining (blended with the story of the Prodigal Son) is a delight. #wintergames #merryreaders #tbrread

(I received a free copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.)

TheSpineView Love the cover! It has lots of purple and a horse. I must say though that if this is historical fiction, equine fly bonnets where not used until the 20th century. Just saying... 4y
