I love an enemies to lovers trope, but not when the enemies part contains physical and emotional abuse...
And while I quite liked Pestilence overall, I found it hard to like the MC Sara.
But overall I found myself intrigued enough by the premise and might even read the next 🤔

I have almost finished my #DoubleSpin - The House in the Cerulean Sea. I have an hour left and hoped to finish it today, but my partner has just had a new job confirmed and he wanted to celebrate! ☺️ it‘s definitely one of my favourite books this month and I can‘t wait to finish tomorrow!
pickIn this penultimate volume of the series, we finally get some key flashbacks to the formation of the Chosen and the brutal combat between Death and the three other horsemen of the apocalypse. It is an absolute pageant of violence, but the characters are drawn with such minute attention to their emotions.
It's the House of Mao vs the Endless Nation. Death finally encounters the other three horsemen, whom he betrayed. And Archibald is scheming away.
Nick Dragotta is so good at juxtaposing the human with the gigantic.
Hickman has a great sense of dark humor when, for instance, Death takes his son fishing and Babylon lasers all the fish.
pickThis series just keeps getting better and better. Death finally meets up with the other Horsemen, it does not go well. Tons of political intrigue, broken promises, general backstabbery, armies on the move, and a wolf and crow might control everything. This is my favorite comic since reading Saga.
Finished "Hunger" and "Warcross"! I'll be sending them to @jillannjohn by Monday! "Hunger" was a reread, and it was cool (not amazing, but an interesting concept). I have mixed feelings about Warcross. I was totally into the plot and all, BUT I wanted to strangle the main character for being an idiot. pick2018 was the year of the graphic novel for me. Thanks to Hoopla I have manged to read 108 graphic novels so far this year. Here are some of my favorites.
East of West is my favorite series that I have read in years. I can't recommend this one enough.
Saga is amazing and heartbreaking. I love you and hate you Brian K Vaughan.
Best Moon Knight series I've ever read.
Monstress is beautiful. I love this title.
God Country made me have emotions.
