Somebody was talking about this (maybe Jen Campbell?) and it looked to fit my overwhelming need to read something Properly Wintry. This is a beautifully creepy ghost story aimed at older kids - maybe 10-12. It‘s 1881 and Tilly is ice skating with a friend at Frost Hollow Hall when she falls through the thin ice and almost drowns - in stumbling through the ice she has also stumbled into the mystery of the Hall and it‘s haunted residents. 4 stars.
This book is making me feel both #fireandice in my stomach. It makes me burn with anger and passion, but the facts chill me to the bone. It makes me think about how I‘ll (hopefully) raise my future children without gender based norms of emotions, because girls can definitely be angry, too, and they have every right to be! 😡🤬😡🤬
