Time to start thinking about some seasonal fermented vinegars & veggies. I love fire ciders. 🥵🔥

My in-laws from Baltimore are asking: Where‘s the sauerkraut, hon? For proper pronunciation, you‘ll have to catch me in person. 😉
I‘ve had 49/73 items that are actually on the list. Here are some of my favorites.
1. Mashed potatoes
2. Roasted acorn squash
3. Glazed carrots
No thank you to giblets!

1. Social gathering with the book club.
2. New handheld vacuum cleaner.
3. New bookcase configuration.
4. Orioles Pride Night jersey. This is especially gratifying because the opponent for the night was the one remaining MLB team that doesn‘t have their own Pride Night.
5. Local wine and pickled vegetables from the farmers market.

For @Lcsmcat - my fermentation books. 🫙🥒
Unboxing and shelving all of our books after painting. 😅
Can I just say painting is right up there with dusting? Ugh Lots more on the docket too.
Any sauerkraut makers on Litsy with advice to give? I bought this gorgeous fermenting crock today and I‘m nervously jumping in. #fermenting #locavore
#CuriousCovers Day 9- The tagged book fulfills today‘s prompt for a #purple cover. This is an interesting book, kind of an anthropological history of beer and fermentation practices. Buhner‘s main point is that traditionally beer was made from a variety of plants, and typically included medicinal and psychoactive plants (Buhner is an herbalist). There are recipes here too (including one for wormwood ale!), but I haven‘t tried any of them.
The fermented turmeric cauliflower turned out “ok”, but this spicy curried pickled cauliflower is terrific! Tart with just enough heat to wake up the taste buds. Would be an excellent accompaniment with a heavy or fatty dish. 😋
Again, this is a terrific small batch book.
Doing a little kitchen bacteria farming. 😉
I do recommend this water bath canning and fermenting book for small batches. Simple and tasty recipes. 😋 Today I canned cranberry apple jam.
The book was a gift from Mrs. Claus. 😉😉
Thank you so so much Chrissy. You‘re so very thoughtful and so very kind. This is an amazing book - I can‘t wait to dive in and preserve, can and ferment everything! And locally made Marzipan ! Is there a better food - I don‘t think so. Thank you so much you‘re so kind to me. I also loved the wind chimes - I‘ll post you a garden photo tomorrow!
