#FavFemaleCharacter I got stumped on this one. King has many great female characters but I never thought about having an overall favorite before. After giving it some thought I finally settled on Beverly Marsh. I can relate to her tomboyish ways, not to mention she was an amazing source of strength and wisdom for The Losers Club. #StephenKing17 @Josie @Gayan

#stephenking17 Day 6 I like a number of the women in SK's books, but I'm going to with Tess from Big Driver, one of the stories in Full Dark, No Stars. She survives a horrible experience, but gets revenge. (I don't advocate revenge, just like it in a story. ☺️) #favfemalecharacter

Also, I forgot this was a movie on Lifetime so now I'm going to look for that.

Gayan I really liked the movie. 7y
Sweettartlaura I loved the audiobook for this - it was enthralling, & just the perfect length for a single listen. 7y
Bookzombie @Gayan I'm going to watch it sometime soon. @Sweettartlaura I think I may reread in the future and do audio. 🙂 7y
Gayan The audio was fantastic, it reeled me right in and I couldn't stop. 7y

I have to go with Frannie Goldsmith...as I am a Goldsmith. I so wanted to name one of my daugters Frannie but the husband wasn't buying it. ;)

Gayan If I was a Goldsmith I would have named all my kids Frannie, I love her that much! 😂 7y
AmyG @Gayan Right? I couldn't even name my cat Frannie. It also doesn't help that we have a dear friend named Frannie. ;) 7y
Gayan My Kindle paperwhite is named Frannie. 7y
AmyG @Gayan I therefore adopt your Kindle. Now it is officially Frannie Goldsmith. I hereby give you sole custody. (edited) 7y
Gayan Thank you AmyG, I accept. 7y

My #favfemalecharacter is Mother Abagail and her role during the end of the world for a small group of survivors. In the photo, Rubby Dee in the TV show The Stand cc. 1994.

I thought about this all day, and I'm going to go with Bev Marsh for my #favfemalecharacter. She was just a kid, but she had to be strong enough to save herself from her dad and all of them from Pennywise. Kickass! #StephenKing17

Gayan Bev was resilient that's for sure. 7y

My #favfemalecharacter in a King work so far is Sarah Dunhill. Just started watching the Hulu miniseries and can't wait for her to show up! #stephenking17

Gayan She really is an amazing character. 7y
brittanyreads Loved that miniseries :) 7y
Celeste57 @Gayan She really is. @BBL4nkensh1p I've only watched the first two episodes thus far, but it's really well done. Loving it so far! 7y

brittanyreads Have you read the book? I haven't. Once I've seen a show or movie it's hard for me to take the time to read through the book version. And that book is quite a long one!! Lol 7y
Celeste57 @BBL4nkensh1p I have indeed read the book. It's my favorite King book that I've read so far! I don't know how enjoyable it would be if you watched the show first, though. And you're right; it's a chunk. 7y
brittanyreads It is a chunker!! Hahha I've actually never read any SK. any other recommendations? Thanks!! 😃 7y
Celeste57 @BBL4nkensh1p I actually haven't read too many of his books yet. So far, this and his nonfiction book On Writing are my favorites. But I have so many by him on my shelf that I want to read!! If you'd like to do a buddy read of one of his bigger books later in the year, like maybe The Stand, I'd be all over that. 😉 7y
brittanyreads That would be awesome!!! Just let me know. The Stand does look like a good one :) 7y
Celeste57 @BBL4nkensh1p Want to shoot for the end of April? I've been wanting to read that one forEVER. 😁 7y
brittanyreads Sure I'll go ahead and purchase it 👯I'll be in touch 😊 7y
Celeste57 @BBL4nkensh1p Hooray!! 🎉 7y
Smangela @Celeste57 I couldn't finish the miniseries! I felt like Franco didn't play Jake right at all and couldn't stand all the changes :/ 7y
Celeste57 @Smangela I can see where the changes could make it hard to watch. I'm pretty good at not holding a movie or show to the standard of its book, so I'm okay with it so far. But I'm only two episodes in, so that could very well change. 😉 7y
Smangela @Celeste57 I'm trying to decide if I can give it another chance now that more time has passed since I read the book. I think I watched too soon after reading lol 7y

Catch-up day! #stephenking17
Left: #day4 #scaredyou The ending to this though. What got me was the inevitability of something so horrifying.
Right: #day5 #bookyouwantobein I think this is a safe bet. I also like fairs.
Top: #day6 #favfemalecharacter I chose Alice from Cell because I read this book when I was a teenager and really identified with her character. This is a screenshot of the movie version which was a decent adaptation imo.

Dolores Claiborne | Stephen King

The first character that came to mind when I thought of #favfemalecharacter was definitely Carrie, the Sussanah from Dark Tower. Then I remembered Dolores Claiborne and the outstanding narrative and realized that it had to be her. Her voice throughout the entire book was so strong and distinct. I loved it.
