Hey! So I‘m not quite where I want to be today. I was hoping to only have 15 hours left, but I‘m still reasonably on track to finish in a week.

Big news today in Ducks was getting trapped in a flash flood at the mall with the kids. At first, she was afraid that she‘d have to bed down in the mattress store, but Ronnie, the annoying chicken feed supplier, saved the day.

Y‘all, I cannot make this shit up! 😂 Still enjoying it!

Megabooks @BarbaraBB same here, a bit. I could easily read 4-5 audiobooks in the time it will take me to finish this, but I‘m a big #chunksteravoider, especially since I don‘t usually read genres (like fantasy) that have a lot. I‘m using this as an exercise of going outside my comfort zone! I usually don‘t read audiobooks longer than 13 hours or books more than 450 pages, which is about the same thing. (I think the print DN must have small font!) 4y

ChasingOm I think it sounds like audiobook might be the way to go with this one. Even though it‘s loooong, I feel like the stream of consciousness might feel more rewarding if you‘re actually hearing it. 🤔 4y

Cinfhen I skipped this month 🙈I wanted the J.Sullivan but it‘s only an add on so I‘ll wait to read reviews and hopefully I can add it next month. Plus since Covid I have no one traveling to/from States. Since January I haven‘t had the chance to obtain my books!!!!!

Our intrepid heroine had a bad dentist appointment and got a flat tire on the highway without her cell phone. She almost missed her pie delivery.

I‘m seriously not making this up! But it‘s oddly satisfying how the author deals with this mundanity. 😂😂

Now she‘s talking a lot about the environment and natural history. She mentions the cuyahoga river catching on fire, which I remember my dad telling me about as a kid.

Made 9 hours today! 👍🏻

Megabooks @Cinfhen I am even more impressed that you make it through so many audiobooks!! I start a book at 1.5 to get used to the narrator (about 20-30 minutes), but I mostly listen at 1.7 (if I‘m splitting my concentration) or 2.0-2.2 (if I‘m just listening or doing mundane things). 4y

I‘m starting to feel like any book over 10 hours on audio starts to feel too long....How are you doing 45 hours @Megabooks 😱😳🤯 While I‘m enjoying the premise, Eastern European Jews settling & living on the frontiers of Alaska, as a sort of utopian Jewish Homeland, it is starting to feel gimmicky. Only about an hour to go.

Day 1: so far, I‘m really enjoying it. It‘s kind of random, but in the randomness, there are defined characters and relationships. I couldn‘t get into at all as an ebook, and I‘m actually finding it kind of delightful on audio.

The plan is to finish it in a week, and I‘m going to post updates at midnight my time as I go through.

slategreyskies I just checked this out from the library. It looks great, but it‘s a doorstopper! 4y
