I love readathons! Probably won‘t make it to 25 but it will be fun to make some progress on my current reads! Crenshaw is this month‘s middle grade pick for #diversebooksclub and I need to start #theodysseybuddyread 📚
#25infive

Ashley_Nicoletto Hooray! I'm so happy you're joining the fun! I also have this copy of The Odyssey. Can't wait to see what you think! 6y

heikemarie My kids loved Crenshaw! It was particularly great for a few kids in upper middle who are way below reading level. It was still high interest to them. 6y
Andrew65 Welcome aboard, the taking part is more important than getting to 25 hours. 😊 I loved 6y
mhillis @LectricSheep @heikemarie I just finished Crenshaw last night! It was interesting for me too! 6y
mhillis @Andrew65 Thanks!! 6y

This is a middle grade book in verse about three scientists: Maria Sibylla Merian, Mary Anning, and Maria Mitchell. I would recommend it to readers of all ages!

If you‘ve been adopted or you are an adoptive parent, this is a book for you. I read this as part of the Diverse Books Club with our theme this month being adoption. The story of Asha, born in India, is told from the perspectives of her biological parents, adoptive parents, and herself. It spans 25 years and is such a tender-hearted telling of the journey of adoption. (Authentic Indian scarf!) #diversebooksclub

This week: I read two selections for November‘s #diversebooksclub on Instagram. Enjoyed both of them but Ginny Moon was especially interesting. The other picture is from this morning‘s 5k run for men‘s health!

While I wait for 5 pm to open my #theretellingbookswap package, I'm reading this lovely middle grade novel in verse for #Bookstagram's #DiverseBooksClub. The book is about a family's flight from Vietnam during the War and this passage made me pause.
