the First book from the The Million Dollar Catch series
Very good. Very interesting to see a woman's perspective on how women read, watched and generally consumed an ideal of desire down the centuries.
This came out in 2006 but it seems old and dated now, especially the casual reference to beating her and strangling her because she made him mad by having to reschedule a date. Not helped by saying she sounds shrewish, which apparently lights her fire. Romance books have changed a lot in just the last decade.
Last book of 2018 to make my total 65 books for the year - the most I‘ve ever read!
This book had some good things to say about Christian desire and longing, but it struggled with being succinct. It needed an editor to cut a third of the descriptions/stories and edit language choice to pack a punch. I especially liked one chapter about refining our natural desires to align with those of God, while being honest about our desires.
