Starting to feel like Tom Taylor is the guy you call if you need to inject some light and hope into a superhero storyline. Dick Grayson is generally more cheerful and chatty than other members of the Bat family, but I haven't explored much of Nightwing in Blüdhaven in comics and I'm glad to see a corrupt city cast in Taylor's upbeat 'things can change' framing. Bruno Redondo's art really emphasises the humour, action and heart.

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 Storygraph insists I've read this before, (surprised I don't remember considering how much fun I had reading it this time) but that was back before I made a habit of following up with future volumes. I will definitely be doing so now! 1w

While I will forever adore sassy Alfred, supportive guardian Alfred is also a fave. 🥹♥️

The Sum of Us was enraging in the best ways and really eye opening about some things I never thought of... like why we had to pay $120 each summer for season pool passes when I was growing up.

GingerAntics This book was also beautifully written and surprisingly hopeful. This is a fight that feels SO big and so intertwined with every part of our society that is easy to lose hope and feel like our country has no chance to be anything else. McGhee does a brilliant job of keeping things upbeat and even wrapping up with signs of hope. 2w
GingerAntics Also, this is read by the author, which always makes books that much better! HIGHLY recommend this book; a real joy to read, full of great information and so many important things to learn. This would be a wonderful conversation starter. Should be required reading for everyone. 2w

I just thought this one was super slow and I just couldn‘t stay interested. It took me forever to get through it and I hated all of the characters. There just wasn‘t enough to make it worth it for me in the end.

It took me awhile to gather the threads of this story together, yet I couldn't look away. I'm a sucker for retellings of the same events from different perspectives. I pictured Neda so differently from Ajay's descriptions that I didn't recognize her character in Part 2. By the time that there was a Sunny chapter, I had been thinking to myself - "we better hear from Sunny next." I got this so well & found it excellent.
