I was checking out my family tree on Ancestry (its been years since i worked on it!) and got excited when i found records for one of the ships my ancestors came to NZ on - the Roman Emperor in 1860. When i googled that i found one of the men onboard was Samuel Butler who wrote this book. So i get to read a few chapters about what the crossing was like for them! Thank you internet, youve been very helpful today ☺️

The selection of authors was expected. It features classic love poets such as Shakespeare, Dickinson, and Byron. I‘m not that familiar with classic poetry (I read more modern poetry), so I cannot speak too much on the selection of poems.
As with almost all poetry collections, some poems stood out more than others.

so-soYeah, I'm a bit meh on this Dumas book. I'm reading it for Twitch for Black History Month (Canada) because it's one of his shortest works. The trouble with this book is that it's a slow burn, with 13 long chapters of build up to all the action in the last 7 chapters. It's hard to get invested in the tragedy of Lucien and Louis. My viewers are enjoying it, surprisingly enough. It's the forgotten basis for a pile of SFF stories, too.
