Pickpick

It‘s the time for rereading two of my old favourites!
1) #TheSongofAchilles
I have to admit I didn‘t love it as much as the 1st time 😱.

2) #Circe
I liked it a lot more than the 1st, maybe b/c I‘m 3 years older? Back then, the ending disappointed me, now, I find it very peaceful.

Here‘s my #bookspin and #doublespin for September. It‘s about half new choices and half old ones (not because I‘ve been reading the old ones, mind you, but just to change things up a bit). #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks

My Reading Rush Readathon TBR (To Be Read) books. I am halfway through Coraline. Hoping to finish all 6 books within these 7 days. Is anybody reading any of these books?

I'll be tagging the books against the prompts as I finish them.

The.Great.Catsby I read Coraline in high school. I remember absolutely loving it! 2y
rrkreads @The.Great.Catsby I finished it today and yes, I too loved it. But, I loved the movie more (is it an unpopular opinion? :) loving the movie more than the book??) 2y
The.Great.Catsby @rrkreads I actually think that is a popular opinion. At least, the people I know who have seen and read it. The movie is so much creepier than the book. 2y

I need to talk about Circe. It‘s beautifully written, without a doubt. But at 60% I‘m struggling a bit. I like Greek Mythology & I‘m familiar with the stories, but I quickly realized that I had to be in the mood for the topic to even pick Circe up. To quit such a well-written book seems totally wrong, but I‘m a little bored.#circe #botm

MeganAnn I felt the same way. It‘s beautifully written, but I never felt a strong urge to keep reading or to pick it up again once I put it down. It took forever to finish it and the ending didn‘t change my opinion of the book in any way. If you aren‘t feeling it, move on... or put it aside and come back at a later date when your mood fits. If you know a bit about the mythology, I feel like you could pick it up again months later and not be lost.🤷‍♀️ 3y
mrsthilkey That stinks, sounds like it just wasn't the right time. That happens to me occasionally, and I will save it for a later time. 3y
LazyLibrary @MeganAnn glad to hear it‘s not just me. I think I am going to quit for now! 3y
LazyLibrary @mrsthilkey I‘m thinking that‘s what happened, but not sure if there will ever be a right time 😂 but it got best book of 2018 for botm! I felt left out! 3y
