Read on the recommendation of my friend‘s mom. An extensive memoir on Betancourt‘s time in captivity with the FARC. At times it felt a bit sanitized (she seemed to have more issues with fellow hostages than her captors), but I also can‘t imagine enduring what she did.

Okay, so I just encountered the strangest printing error I‘ve ever seen… In my used copy of The Complete Poems of Dorothy Parker I just saw that that 21 of the uncollected poems are missing and in their place is the end of something called Women‘s Indian Captivity Narratives, I think the tagged book. And then the poems pick up again. 🤨😏🤣

1. The Lantana in the backyard has a little bloom on it and my dog Toppy is in the picture.
2. The Lantana in the front yard has several blooms on it.
3. I put out some mealworms for the birds around the trees in the front and backyard.
4 & 5 - I drew an oracle card at the beginning of the week and I also did a before bed tarot spread one night because I bought some new tarot cards recently.

I got halfway through but then gave up as it was just too repetitive with variations on I went hunting and killed this many animals. Not an auspicious start to my reading year.

Finally read this one...very good, very sad.
