I went into this seeing mostly 5-star reviews, which is always a lot to live up to. It took me a bit to get into it, but by about the halfway mark I was engrossed. Stories like this amaze me, considering it all comes from the author‘s imagination. This is fantasy with rich world-building and beautiful prose. And IMO, two great main characters. I especially love Lazlo. I don‘t want to give away any spoilers. Can‘t wait for the sequel! 🔽TBC below:
This long overdue #breakfastbookclub at the cottage was more of a #brunchbookclub since @Jenshootsweddings and I had a nap after our early morning Flea Market adventures. She brought me Beignet mix from New Orleans, so even though the book was great, we spent most of the time talking about how good the donuts were... 😍🍩🦁
When you haven't eaten much food in a week and your BFF tells you to come over for breakfast 😍😍 thanks @jpease89
We chose our next #breakfastbookclub book, and hopefully by the time we finish it my kitchen will be somewhat useable again!
This counts as #foodiefiction, right? #readjanuary
#breakfastbookclub with @jpease89 this morning! I made an overnight orange croissant bake with fruit, and we talked about Scrappy Little Nobody. We both thought the book was meh, and I skimmed the last few chapters. I found the tone to be a little annoying!
Have you read it? What did you think?
