I read so many excellent books this year and I started to choose best 20 of 2020 but couldn‘t narrow it down! So I limited myself to one fiction and one nonfiction of the year. These two will stay with me. ♥️📚 #bestoftheyear #bestof2020 #favorites

EadieB @Butterflyamore From your list I would like to read Letters to the Lost, A Curse so Dark and Lonely, Doll Factory, The Apple Tree, 7-1/2 Deaths, This Tender Land, Miracle Creek and All That's Bright and Gone.
I have read The Whisper Man and The Light Between Oceans.
I have many books by Daphne DuMaurier but not The Apple Tree. I have read The House on the Strand (favorite) The Scapegoat and Rebecca. Jamaica Inn is a great one .

abookishbutterfly @EadieB I‘ll be starting Just Mercy soon! Probably tomorrow. If I had read The Silent Patient in 2019, it definitely would have made my list! But I read the ARC in 2018 so it‘s a favorite of that year instead. 4y

I never pick a favorite of the year because I have too many, but here are my stats.

I usually read more women than men, so this year was strange. 2018 goals: read more women, POC, short story collections, nonfiction, and poetry. I‘ll play it safe and set my book goal to 150 since I read so many short books last year.
