I am exhausted. I am not going to meet my #Awesome August goal. I am ok with my progress reading somewhere around 500 pages in the last 2 days. My new personal goal is to finish this week. @Andrew65

Andrew65 500 in the last two days is great, well done and thanks for playing along 👏👏👏🙌🥳🍾🥂 9mo

Pickpick

Back to work tomorrow so my last bk of hols and an apt photo from our last day and a puffin cruise (1 hr ride around island, v windy, no puffins but fun)
I really enjoyed this story set around a wedding on a remote Irish island, with very rich hedonistic bride/groom and guests. Thru different voices tension increases until a climax that allows much speculation on the killer. Definitely a writer I will try again.
Bk 5 for #Awesome August.

DivineDiana I so want to go on a puffin cruise! Friends went on one in Maine a few weeks ago and did see puffins! 9mo
andrew61 @DivineDiana apparently they nest from march to August but most have migrated by now so it is an excuse to go back. We did see some seals however ! 9mo
DivineDiana Yes, another time! And seeing seals in their habitat must have been fantastic! 9mo

Mehso-so

Meh. This was a fast read but not a great one. The many wtf moments don't do any favors to an implausible plot. It reminds me of those bad straight to DVD action flicks where there are lots of explosions and shootouts but little logic. I'm being generous with the so-so.

Book 10 finished for #Awesome August

All for You | LOUISE. JENSEN

Pickpick

Book 9 finished for #Awesome August.

This is a very intense and fast moving psychological thriller. It grabs you from the very first page, there is no preamble, and then doesn‘t let you go. It is both fast moving and tense at the same time.

Andrew65 Meet the Walsh family. The youngest son has severe liver disease, and the rest of the family - father mother and son - are all hiding secrets that are crucifying them as well as the rest of the family, and if that isn‘t enough the oldest son is abducted at the beginning of the book. 9mo
Andrew65 I‘d not read Louise Jensen before but will definitely do so again. She did an excellent job of slowly revealing the secrets as the book progressed but in a way that added to the story, but didn‘t slow it down.

I would never have guessed the ending. All in all an excellent book which I strongly recommend if you like pacy all-involving psychological thrillers.

Andrew65 Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publishers for providing a copy of this book for me, for an an open and honest review. 9mo
