So I hate dust jackets on books & there‘s hardly every anything underneath them but obviously that‘s just how things are now, this one has nothing on the front cover but look how much prettier the spine would be on a shelf. Ugh (not that I even have the other 2 to display since I audiobooked them but then everyone started reporting how awful Audible pays especially to smaller authors from marginalized backgrounds so I got the hardcover)
Ada brings to Wonderland her own imperfect apprehension of cause and effect as she embarks on an odyssey to find Alice and see her safely home from this surreal world below the world. If Eurydice can ever be returned to the arms of Orpheus, or Lazarus can be raised from the tomb, perhaps Alice can be returned to life.

panThis was required reading for my son's English class, so I read it with him. I was disappointed it wasn't more to our liking. There were too many details that were supposed to be clever that had me rolling my eyes. The worst thing, for me, was the White Rabbit being reimagined as Bibwit Harte (which is a terrible and unnecessary anagram), who is a large-earred albino.

pickI have been slacking on my #aliceinwonderlandretelling challenge so I decided to double up this month. This one 1) has made it onto my keeper bookcase 2) was inhaled in less than a day and 3) will be in the top 20 of favorite books read this year. Yes, I know ita only May but still! Great twists on the original story and I loved all the characters. Book 1 in a series and yes I'll be reading the rest for sure!
pickTo be fair this author is quirky in his takes of different stories and Alice in Wonderland (one of my favorite stories!) Is already a trip but with this one it gets curiouser and curiouser. This is from the POV of Ada a character briefly mentioned in the original story...Alice's friend to be exact.
