pickThis was good but was too long; both narratives felt too drawn out but the unusual format was intriguing. It was heartbreaking to consider the stories of women and girls forced into plural marriages and the effect it had on the children (and surplus boys) as well. Both timelines were interesting but I felt that the story of Jordan and his mother could have been fleshed out more.

It's a chilly morning for porch reading, but, as always, it's making me happy. Our road trip was fun but there's no place like home! I started this while we were in Moab, as I wanted to read something set in Utah, and I'm still plugging along.

I grew up visiting this store, and it was a true delight to learn how it came to be and how it operates. I really appreciated reading of the difficulties they‘ve dealt with. And many big name authors have visited! Also many, many book lists to peruse and take notes on! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

I went to a local library book sale this morning to find some books for my book nerd hospice patient (I found 7!!!), and picked this one up for me. The series on Hulu was pretty dark, I can‘t wait to dive in to learn all the details. There were a couple of copies and I was tempted to place one of them by The Book of Mormon.

Apparently knowing a book exists outside copyright and can be fetched at any time for free by accessing Project Gutenberg or YouTube audiobooks means I do not make it a priority to actually finish it. pickThis was one of those instances where I completely stumbled upon this book. I really like Scott Bricks voice & I love to listen to audiobooks. So I was compelled to check it out and it was pretty thrilling and I did enjoy it. The ending really pleased me! I was also very happy to learn that this was part of a collection of books that Nora Kelly & characters are developed in and so the story continues! Much to my delight!
After nearly losing my mother earlier this year and my father‘s passing this month, I picked up this book and it is really hitting. Just 25 pages in, I want to get a copy for every mother and everyone I know who has a mother.
pickThis is the second time I‘ve read this and I find it oddly touching. I think it‘s a family of 4 wives and 28 kids but I kind of lost track.
