She set out to find her biological father and understand her history better. This was her story about that journey. I can‘t imagine what that must have been like for her.

📕 📕 This was a fascinating look into how genealogy, nature vs nuture, and such discussions play into how the paths of three families collide one night when a police officer is murdered. Non-fiction but read like a novel.

so-soI‘m on the fence between a pick and so-so. I‘ve read enough of Jacobs to know what to expect. This was entertaining enough, though maybe not his best. But not bad either.
so-soI wouldn‘t call them advanced techniques, but I got one or two ideas from it.
pickThis genealogy covers a lot of characters throughout three generations of 3 families that intertwine. Some parts I loved, some parts needed more editing and were too verbose. In the end, I enjoyed the twisting this story takes, the ideas of parole and prison, and interesting stories of “normal” people in the 1900s.
pickThis was a very researched book into the lives of his ancestors and what it brought up, such as slavery. It's a heavy read, which is fine and it took me two months to read.
